“Great dorm style rooms with awesome garden”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

The location is near the downtown Univ. of Cambridge area. The staff were very helpful and everything was ready for check in and check out without any fuss. The gardens behind the college are beautiful and it was great walking around there and reading on the benches. The dorms were simple but had everything you needed. Had to ask for hair dryer at the front desk and they did have them. Would stay there for a conference again.

“Very Comfortable Place to Stay for a Conference”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

I stayed in Robinson College for three nights during a conference. The room was very comfortable and the staff were all very pleasant, from the porters, to the chefs and the servers at the servery. Also the people in the background organising the college for functions are well versed in these affairs. Also the college has free wi-fi.
Clearly, the college has worked hard with the city council and others regarding access for disabled people -most of the rooms are not on the ground floor but there are lifts which are easily accessible. If you use a wheelchair and wish to stay there, let the college know beforehand. It is the only college I know which does not have steps at the entrance. There are two disabled parking slots.I may well be in Cambridge next year at a conference when I will try hard to stay in Robinson!
Having stayed there for a few nights I do not know if there is a charge for a visitor but please look on the following website:https://www.robinson.cam.ac.uk/ or you can look them up on Facebook.

Having been less than overwhelmed by the choice of places to stay for a weekend in Cambridge - mostly expensive and uninspiring - we had the brainwave of looking on the Cambridge University website to see if they rented out rooms to guests, and that led us to the Travel Booking Network site that has a choice of B&B options in various Cambridge colleges. We chose Robinson because it promised more modern amentities and we were not disapppointed. The room was excellent, the staff exceedingly pleasant and helpful. Only a short and pleasant walk - mostly on footpaths - to the centre of Cambridge. Since we were there just before Easter, the college was almost empty and the restaurant closed at the weekend - but they gave us huge Continental breakfasts and a free bottle of wine. On the Monday, we had a cooked breakfast in the restaurant and it was first class. The gardens are great for relaxing in. We had no trouble parking on the street (free), but on weekdays spaces are scarce during the day.

“Robinson College, the newest Cambridge College - Worth a look”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

Robinson College is just over 30 years old and is the newest Cambridge University College. It is a total contrast with its ancient neighbours. It s only 5 mins walk from Trinity & Kings Colleges and well worth a look.

The entrance is staffed by friendly porters.

Nice gardens where you can walk on the grass (rare in Cambridge); this alone makes it worth the detour. It is an award winning red brick building reminding me of a castle design.

I would love to say it works, but I cant really! I much prefer the older buildings and whilst apparently the bricks are all hand made, it reminds me of multi storey car parks. a softer colour might have had a better effect.

I had the advantage of being shown around by a student, which gave me internal access as well, It is extremely well set out and I would imagine it would be one of the more comfortable colleges to study at.

Go and have a look and make your own mind up.

“Great place for Professional congress”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

I attended a scientific meeting there. We were located in the student's rooms that are basic but acceptable.
The main conference room is great. The smallest room for the poster sessions are way too small and overcrowded.
The dinner room is outstanding. the cafetariat is ok.
The college is nice and relatively close to downtown (10min walk).
