have been today for a walk although we enjoyed the park there was lack of directions for the walks. There was also a car parking fee of £2 for all day

Jackie's nephew took us here on our recent visit to Cambridge. We walked to the park from Orchard Park area of Cambridge and by the time we had walked round the lakes we were ready for a break. There is a very nice café in the park - Café Diem - we had some lovely soups, Parsnip & Parmesan and Beetroot & Ginger and pots of tea.

This gave us the energy to walk out through the park and pick up a track which led us down to the Cam and the riverside path towards Cambridge.

The park seems to be a popular place for families to visit. There is some pleasant walking through woodland and by the lakes. Worth a visit if you want to get away from central Cambridge.

we came here in Early march to come fishing as it has a excellent disabled fishing platform which is hard to come acrossed these days, Free disabled carparking right near the swim . Easy access. The only bad thing about it was people whilst we were fishing kept coming round and walking around all the fishing tackle, which is our pride and joy, also as we were fishing there may of been some rods on the platform with the hooks in. As we had pay £8 to fish here, we kept having to explain ourselfs why we were then and happend to get into a disagreement with one family as they proceed to walk through all the fishing tackle and feed the ducks to our shock. I think there needs to be more signs saying that its a fishing lake and more signs regarding the disabled swims. Because of our one experience there we most likely would not go back due to all the worry of our fishing tackle being stood on.
The cafe was quite pricey!
Toliets were okay could of been a bit cleaner.
When it rains the park becomes VERY muddy.

Good:
Very nice cafeteria that keeps improving the range of food & drinks with great balcony overlooking large lake.
Good play areas for children from age 1 up.
Quite nice for dogs.
Pram & wheelchair accessible all areas.
Part of good round walk via Baits Bite Lock
Bad:
Anglers setting up tent villages at the water edge mean at most 4-5 places you can get to the water.
Bad rubbish problem in the water at the N end.
Can be very depressing when overcast.

A nice place to go for a walk but be careful if it has rained heavily for a while as the paths do get extremely muddy. The on site cafe does do very nice drinks and cakes at reasonable prices.
