We had booked for a party of 5, a family meal for Mother's Day: it was encouraging to note that we had difficulty getting a slot and we had in the end to settle for lunch at 2.45 pm. When we arrived it wasn't too busy but others were still dining, and while we were getting drinks from the bar a table nearby was prepared and our order was taken quite promptly. There was a reasonable wait before the meals arrived, they were obviously cooked fresh to order, and we all agreed that our meals looked excellent : the arrangement was conveniently on the lines of a choice of two/three course meal with a choice of either a starter or a pudding, but in the end those who had had starters decided to go for pudding in addition. They were not disappointed. The meals were very well cooked and presented, the large plates did seem to make the dish looked smaller but in truth they were all substantial and very filling. Considering the proximity of this pub/restaurant to our home I am not sure why some of us hadn't been there on some previous occasion (within memory) but I am certain we will all be looking for any reason to visit again.
