“Chicken club without the chicken!”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

a few of us had met up for a beer and a meal, the menu's on the table were all talking about the chicken club promotion that was on that night. On asking to order some of the dishes for our group we were told there was no chicken. Pub grub turned up and it was good, gourmet burgers were very nice. I had a pint of Batemans XXXB which is normally quite a dark beer, but i was served a pale one, i questioned it and they did eventually sort it out. Just a mix up with the barrels and the taps. Overall its a wetherspoons and the food was better than i thought it was going to be.

“A real disappointment”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

I've been to this Wetherspoons before and never had a problem. I like the spacious venue and the decor, the staff are polite and the food is reasonable. More of the same today but this time the food was poor - barely-warm chips and an adequate sandwich but nothing of note and not value for money. I should have complained but couldn't be bothered. Will give this venue another try at some point but in no rush to return!

“It is a Wetherspoons, not much more to say..”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Ok....a few more words then...! I've been in here a few times after shopping with the family in Cambridge. The kids seem to like it, and during the day at least, although it is busy it is a safe environment for them to be in (and go off on their own to the toilets). It is quite dark inside, so it is hard to discern the state of the decor. The toilets though are very impressive, done up recently in an attractive art deco style, actually impressively so. The service for a Wetherspoons is surprisingly efficient. The beer is good - as a chain they do invest in choices of real ales. one of the reasons I do have a lot of time for them. The food is what you expect at Wetherspoons. It is cheap and does the job. It is not a criticism, but you wouldnt want to go there for a nice meal - but as a refuelling stop, ideal.
