Located between Train station (~20min walk) and town centre. Single Room is stuffy even in Dec. I found electric fan in wardrobe and believe many guests have commented on it .

The staffs are nice and helpful.
Breakfast in buffet style and no surprise at all.

Not sure our room had been touched since 1984. Staff polite, room clean on the surface but very tired - couldn't quite bring myself to use the shower, a bit of sealant was needed at the very least! Went to breakfast, had some toast, don't understand how scrambled eggs can be watery kind of put us off. 11.30 check out would have been a bonus if we had wanted to stay that long!

My daughter had an interview with Cambridge and she stayed in the dorm/college. I needed a single for myself and this was the closest/nicest option (I'm walking …).

My previous experiences with English hotels left me with very low expectations, but this was cute and cozy. Staff was friendly and welcoming (especially the breakfast staff).

Breakfast itself was just so-so, but plentiful. Good coffee -- so that's what's important.

If daughter attends school here, I will stay here again. Recommended.

A few people have mentioned that the rooms are very small. Yes they are, but the hotel's website warns you about this and it is reflected i the price. If you want bigger rooms this close to the town center you're going to be paying twice as much. So if you are an XXXL or like to have plenty of space to spread out you are probably not going to like this. But for a couple of nights on business for an average size person they are fine.

The rooms are clean, which is important. Wi-fi via the Cloud works fine. TV works, kettle works. Bed was comfortable. Room was plenty warm enough. Quiet, even though its on a main road. If you are on the lower floors you can year people walking about up above, but so long as your neighbors aren't partying all night this isn't a problem.

The shower in my room was less of a shower and more of a high pressure hose pipe attached to the wall. It was okay, but it produces a very strong jet which is not adjustable so you either get a dribble or are knocked off your feet. These days that should be something that can be easily fixed. The fitting that attaches the shower head to the wall was also broken soI couldn't position the shower head so that the water went over me, as opposed to spraying onto the wall. Also something that is easily and cheaply fixed / replaced. There was no teaspoon with the tea making stuff, so I had to stir my hot-chocolate with the handle of my tooth-brush - but on the plus side - there was hot chocolate! The towels are not exactly 'fluffy white' - they were hard, heavy, and off-white (although I suspect they were once a bit whiter) and have probably seen a few too many hot washes and really need replacing - but they were clean and adequate and perhaps for this price I shouldn't be expecting more. The toilet flush worked only about 30% of the time You had to 'pump' the button several times and even when it did work it didn't flush fully. Sometimes you had to wait for the tank to fill again and give it a second go. That was incredibly annoying, and again easily repaired.

All in all not bad for the money, and without the missing teaspoon (I am sure they would have bought me one if i had asked) and the broken shower fitting and dodgy toilet flush I'd have no complaints, but even at the lower end of the budget you expect things to be working, particularly in the bathroom.

Yes I would use this hotel again as it's good value, clean, staff are polite, and it's close to the town center, but I would hope that the broken things had been fixed by then.

Room tip: Top floor is probably better due to floorboard noise of people in rooms above when on lower floors.

More of a B and B than a hotel with breakfast only until 9.30 on a Sunday morning too early if you have been at a party the night before we misdeed it! This made it an expensive option and overpriced for the facilities on offer basically a rather souless bar. Room perfectly fine and good toiletries. Well located 5 mins from fitzwilliam museum. Good wine bar next door called the snug. The staff at hotel were friendly and helpful
