There's a lot to like about this hotel. First - a single room (or double for a small supplement) at £90 is a lot less than you might expect to pay in central Cambridge. And this includes a parking space, in a fairly secure car park behind the hotel. The rooms are very clean and pretty well appointed, kettles and tea things, decent size TV etc. The rooms are perhaps a bit on the small side (although the bathrooms are big enough with bath and shower) but as I was in Cambridge on business then having a lot of space wasn't essential, and I found the desk easily big enough to accommodate me, my laptop, phone and notebook.
The downside of this hotel is that, although there is a restaurant, the dinner options aren't great - you'd be better to go into town - and realistically its a 10 minute walk before you find any good restaurants. Don't drive because parking is difficult in Cambridge.
Breakfast however, is fine - a reasonable choice of cooked breakfasts and various cereals, juices, fruit and toast also available.
The decor is kind of antiquated, I suspect that not much has changed here over the last 30 years, but as I say it's clean and functional, so why change it. Most importantly, the staff are really helpful and attentive. I would definitely go back to this hotel More
