Kings College chapel is probably one of the best visits you can do in Cambridge. Even if you are not very interested in history of the town and its colleges, or architecture, this building is an amazing example of English goth architecture. The carvings on the columns and ceiling are incredible, the stained glass windows are unique, and the choir is pretty impressive.

The chapel also includes, in some of the side chambers, a small museum with some general information about English history on the time of construction, the war of the roses, specific history of the Kings College, and some architecture details. Additionally the ticket allows you to partially visit the college grounds, you can exit from the west entry of the College.

There is a discount price for students, and the ticket can be used all year long if you are an UK tax payer. Check carefully opening times, as the chapel hosts several events, and might be closed for visitors in the time of your visit.

We visited the Chapel on a guided tour, which was a great idea as we got a lot of detailed information about it. Don't go here without a guide. We returned the same evening to attend the evansong which was great experience, it was on the eve of the centenary Memorial of the end of the Great War (WW1). The chapel is a building you MUST visit.

Wasn't prepared for how impressive this place was. I't huge large space inside is lit through colourful stained glass windows. We had came on a sunny day... made it even better. Make sure not to miss the path down to the river Cam and the bridge.

Spent a really pleasant time wandering around this building. Very beautiful especially with the sun shining through the stained glass windows. Very educational notes accompanying a lot of the exhibits. Did wonder if it would be worth the entrance fee but we weren’t disappointed in any way so I guess the answer to that is yes.

A wonderful experience to go to Evensong. To hear the choir is just magic ! They have their own distinctive sound. I had heard that Dr Cleobury is retiring - oh dear, how does anyone follow him ?

Line up by 4:55pm and take in the stunning architecture and soaring choral performance. A wonderful way to see part of Kings without the admission fee and with the special effects of celestial music.
