Owner description: This heritage-listed Botanic Garden was originally conceived by Professor John Henslow, the mentor and teacher of Charles Darwin. The Garden's plant collections today number over 8000 species from all over the world, displayed within the best collection of trees in the region. The 40 acres of beautifully-landscaped gardens and glasshouses offer year-round interest and seasonal inspiration. The excellent Cafe and Shop are also open year-round. An oasis in the City, this great Garden makes a great day out.

“A must for all visitors to Cambridge”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

The gardens are wonderful to visit and you can see pretty much everything in half a day. The new restaurant is excellent. I have eaten wonderful cakes and coffees there, and the lunch dishes look good too. If you have small children you can take the food and sit on the lawn on a good day. Even if it rains there is a lot to see inside and you can take an umbrella anyway. As a resident of Cambridge I go several times a year and when my kids were smaller we went every week. Not to be missed.

We go here at least once a month. The gardens are lovely and the children really love exploring. The annual pass makes great value for money too

I have just done jury service in cambridge for 10 days and one day when we left early I went to the cambridge university botanic garden, I just love going to visit gardens, I do like to garden, even though I suffer from arthritis in my lower back, I just do what I can in the gardening part of my life, the gardens at the university are just lovely and realy peacefull there, the colours of the plants and flowers are just brilliant, well done to the gardeners at the botanic gardens at cambridge university, well done and i can highly reccomend a visit there
