What a lovely location in the beautiful city of Cambridge on the river Cam. We stopped for a drink ready to order some food. My wife visited the ladies toilets and returned with a shocked look on her face stating that every possible form of body fluid could be found on the floor of the toilets, imagine the smell festering in very hot temperatures. Hasten to say we left immediately. Such a shame as the location is amazing.

My husband and I like to eat lunch early and decided to try the Anchor, because they start serving lunch at 11 am. The Anchor is in an ideal spot for a restaurant/pub and there were hundreds of tourists in Cambridge on the day we visited. We could not believe that there was only ONE person working in this fairly large establishment and she acted as if she didn't care whether we were served or not. The prices were fairly steep, but we would have paid because of the view. The few tables outside had no shade and it was a really sunny, hot day. Finally, we decided to leave without ordering because the music was TOO LOUD. What were they owners thinking? Hire some more wait staff, put up some umbrellas over the tables outside, reduce the volume of the music so people can have a conversation without shouting and this place would be super!

Not much to say about this. It's got a great location overlooking the river cam and all the punting and the prices are really cheap. Food is average, not bad, nothing to write home about, and there's good beers on tap. Can't go wrong really service is self service and food comes quite quickly

This pub / restaurant has a fantastic location of the banks of the river Cam, just over the road from Queens College, the day we went it was beautiful and sunny and there were loads of people punting on the river. The food though was fairly average, 3 of the items that we wanted off the menu were not available and when the food did arrive it was only OK.

Went into this pub about 16:00 hours on a Saturday, tables were filthy with old glasses/plates on them, the cue to get a drink in the downstairs was big, it took me 15 minutes before I reached a very unenthusiastic member of staff.

I asked for chicken wings from the starter menu, I was told it would take 30 minutes, I bought crisps!

The bar staff were just so uninterested and part of the reason for the long cue.
What a horrible experience in a wonderful city.
