Description: The Galleria restaurant in Cambridge has the most brilliant location at the foot of Magdalene Bridge beside the River Cam, just in one of the deepest parts where the punters come unstuck. With a pair of terraces beside the river, diners have a ringside seat not only for the punting circus, but also for the pleasure of one of England’s loveliest views. This three-level continental restaurant is light and airy, romantic and pleasant, with wrought-iron balconies, ferns, French prints, bistro-style seating. Signature dish is poached fillets of monkfish in lemongrass with sweet red chilli cream sauce and tiger prawns with leeks and mushrooms served with rice. The very reasonable wines tend to favour Old World vineyards.

Popped in for a light lunch one Saturday. We sat on the small balcony over looking the River and watched the people trying to punt whilst enjoying a very good glass or two of their red house wine. The food was good, The service very friendly and the coffee very good too. The tiny balcony is perhaps its best feature and became a little squashed as everyone wanted to sit there as the main Resturant was a little too hot, although one can sit out on the large extended pavement area outside. Thought the price was reasonable for lunch around £40 for the two of us with wine, coffees and deserts. The toilets I thought were a little disappointing though.

We went to Cambridge with our son to look at Colleges. We booked this restaurant on toptable, normally a reliable source. The restaurant is in a great location right on the Cam, with some nice photos on the walls. It is very open plan, and bright.
But at lunch without a particularly complex menu, it took over 30 minutes to be served a simple starter!!!
The food was ok, but we all felt a bit disappointed, we came to see Cambridge not to be kept
waiting for mediocre food.
The manager understood, and apologised that it was not normally like this, but the waitress still expected us to add a tip to the credit card payment.
Shame that the kitchen let the front of house down.

I took an international team of engineers here for a meal after a walking tour of Cambridge. They were able to accommodate 14 of us with only a few hours notice. We had our own room downstairs overlooking the river. They also have a cute outdoor balcony with seating when it's warm and sunny enough.

We had the house wine and although I'm not a wine drinker everyone seemed to enjoy it.
I ordered the garlic parmesan cheese bread as a starter and it was delicious. Also ordered the shrimp starter and it was a bit spicy (not too spicy). Several of us had the beef which is one of their specialties. It was good but not as good as the steaks one can get in the US. The entree came with pomme-frites (french fries) and a salad. Very good.
The highlight was the Chocolate Box dessert. It was a light chocolate mousse with other sauces surrounding it and some whipped cream.

Overall a very nice experience and I thought it was very reasonably priced for Cambridge.

Took a group of 14 international colleagues here last night - rather a last minute arrangement, and only reserved late in the day without doing much research to select the venue.

Exceeded all expectations. Good menu, great, friendly and efficient service, fantastic food - everyone left very impressed.

Thank you.

We visited this restaurant early yesterday evening. We were in Cambridge for the day and I had made a note of the name, along with others to look out for, based on various website reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was superb, the portions generous and the service excellent. When we arrived the restaurant was not particularly busy but by the time we left, which was still early, there was a really nice atmosphere. We certainly intend returning and just wish it was a little closer to home.
