“Tres Bon!”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Had a really excellent family meal here that really exceeded our expectations. Beautiful starter of Black Pudding and poached egg( boudin Noir), and we also shared some excellent sourdough bread. My sea bass with side of potato gratin was one of the tastiest dishes I have eaten, and fillet and sirloin steaks for husband and son were melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection. Service was attentive , friendly and not obtrusive. Complementary apple schnapps was a nice touch. Very nice ambience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

“Lovely lunch”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

Very good position near Magdalen Bridge. Had lunch with my daughter after visint The Glassworks Spa just round the corner, We had a starter and a delicious pudding. Attractive interior and attentive service. A good 'deal' for lunch if you wanted it - £9.95 for 2 courses. I recommend it.

“Great little restaurant, with budget menu before 7pm”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Staying in a hotel close by, so were booked into the COte for a group meal. Had the budget menu, with 3 courses for £12. Menu more limiting for veggies, but there is plenty on offer on the main menu. The steak/frites was finished, which was a shame, as I'd heard it was really good.

The courses were served al together - can be difficult for a group of 20, so well done! We had dishes ranging from salads, fish cakes, to duck and fish, all well presented and tasty. The desserts equally good.

The wine range was great, and between us we sampled around 5 different bottles, and the waiters recommendations were excellent.

Great atmosphere and welcoming for large groups

“C'est Fantastique!!!!”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Went here Easter Monday, glad we booked as was terribly busy, we had a set menu, three courses for about £12? Roughly four choices per course so no problem picking out something tasty. What can I say, the food was delicious, the staff were very efficient and very friendly and indeed our waiter ( I think) was French, so added to the overall feeling that you could have been sat in a restaurant in Paris!! For the price we paid we were very happy indeed and can't wait to go back next bank holiday! Bon appetite!

“Cosy dinner at Cote”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Dined here with hubby & 13 yr old daughter whilst visiting Cambridge for the weekend. We had pre-booked as it was a Sat night & we had a lovely Booth style table with lovely subtle lighting. All the staff were very friendly. We had Olives & Bread whilst ordering & went straight for the mains. I ordered Duck in a Cherry Sauce which came with Dauphinoise Potatoes, my daughter chose the Pork Belly & Hubby, the Beef Bourgignon, both came with creamy mash. We ordered sides of Green Beans & Carrots. All our choices were delicious, beautifully cooked meat, the Pork shredded nicely, the Beef melted in the mouth & my duck was a little pink, just as I like it. The portions were excellent & substantial. Hubby & I shared a good bottle of Merlot. Service was attentive with decent gaps between our nibbles to start and our main. We were not hurried with the bill either which was lovely, especially for a Sat eve. So nice to relax, digest, people watch & not have to worry about being rushed. The restaurant was fairly busy with some tables empty but enough were taken to create a lively atmosphere. Would definitely return!
