With a location like this beside the river cam and a lovely terrace with lots of tables in the sunshine it would be hard to imagine anyone could have anything to complain about. But this place is an all year round restaurant and while its nice for a drink and a snack in the summer, its important to realise that the food is very mediocre.
The pizzas taste like ones you can get from a supermarket, dry and crunchy. I put olive oil on mine and it was still as dry as a bone, nothing like the ones you will get at zizi for less money. They are also small. Mine was burnt too.
My friend had a salad which was really fresh and lovely ingredients. But omg so small and expensive. Even the coke we ordered wasn't in a bottle, it was flat stuff which was not the real thing but we were still charged a premium price for it.
Mimosa is also open strange hours, can't remember them exactly, but if you go by at 4pm, it's likely they will be closed and reopening at 7pm, which means those who want to eat at 5 or 6pm lose out.
I can't remember how many times I have walked past this place intending to eat there and find that it's closed!
They also have a strange entrance door. Sometimes the door on the river side is open and some times the one on the other side of the building, very strange.....
Menu choice is average, service is average but not very helpful, nobody asked if everything was ok, or apologised for the long wait.
This place is cold in the winter and dark and needs to be more welcoming. Go in the summer on a hot day and sit on the terrace but don't expect the food to be great, just soak up the atmosphere of the great location.
