This delightful Italian restaurant is in a lovely location, just beside the River Cam, off Jesus Green. It is reasonably priced and the staff give a wonderful service. It is a family-run restaurant and very friendly. The food is very good with generous portions. There is an outside terrace which is pleasant when the weather is suitable.

If you enjoy true Italian food and can only find the more commercial Italian Resteraunt's in Cambridge, then you need to find La mimosa.

It's not in the centre so you need to walk to the bridge and then along the wooden walk way, but boy is it worth it big time!

To eat genuine Italian food using genuine Italian ingredients is so rare these days.

Hope you find it and if you do you'll never go anywhere else!

Enjoy

This is good italian food in a lovely location.

Better in summer as you can sit on their lovelyterrace and watch the punts go by. You really feel like you are sitting in the middle of cambridge and can soak up the atmosphere. Inside, its just like any other restaurant, but standards are high.

I usually ignore this place as its usually closed when I walk past, if it were open longer hours it would be better for me. Quite often they close at 3pm and re-open at 7pm,which seems crazy, but I guess they know what they are doing.

Service is great and atmosphere nice. Not much else to say except its very clean.

Visited La Mimosa for the first time Saturday lunchtime.
Service from the lady was first class, just the right balance of interest, friendly and attentive.
Food over three courses was first class as well.Prawns to start, alittle pricey but worth it.Swordfish as a main with beautifully cooked veg was faultless.Home made tirimasu also very good.Nice bottle of wine recomended by the lady did not disapoint.Coffee to finish although not authentic Italian capucino it was decent enough.
Overall a beautiful spotless clean restuarant with high attention to detail and strong customer service.
would we visit again - thats a given.

So it was pre arranged but 52 of us on a walk around Cambridge turn up for lunch on a wet December day. On arrival they were really organised - our coats were taken and hung on a rack. The food was plentiful, hot and delicious served by the most friendly and efficient staff. This is a family owned and run restaurant providing authentic Italian food in a fantastic setting at a reasonable price - what could be better?
