Moved in to the area about 5 years ago and visited this restaurant as the most local to us. Unfortunately both the food and service was bad. so we left. 5 years later we gave it another chance over the weekend on the assumption that it must have improved only to be bitterly disappointed that the service and the food had not improved and the attitude of the management in handling our concerns was both rude and offensive.
The duck dish was totally tasteless and the jalfrezi was over powered with pepper. The service was extremely slow and we waited for over half an hour before anyone came to take our order.
In these days of equality we were surprised that the automatic assumption was that the male of the party gets the menu with the prices on and the bill - even though on this occasion I, a mere female, was taking my partner out to dinner! On raising this as a concern we were informed by the manager that they allowed either to pay but always give the menu with prices on to the male. I understand this has also happened to a few other couples who have been equally offended by this stance.
A big shame really because we both love currys.
