Description: The team at Takari obviously know how to diversify - this wonderfully intimate restaurant out in the small High Wycombe suburb of Wooburn Green is the sister of a much celebrated restaurant in London's Covent Garden. With that in mind, diners can't help but feel that they really are enjoying a slice of city life, albeit at a more sedate pace, here at Takari High Wycombe. It's equally as plush and sophisticated as the original, the service just as efficient and the food just as good, a dining venue that wonderfully bridges the gap between high fine dining and a casual bite, both upmarket and pleasantly laid back at once. Authentic Indian food, combining British favourites with more exotic offerings, is the Takari trademark, the freshly prepared dishes made to exacting standards and traditional recipes straight from the homes of India. The menu includes not only delicious Tandoori dishes, but a wide array of curries and biryanis from the most popular culinary regions of the subcontinent.

Being relatively new to the area we've been trying various nearby restaurants in search of our local favourite and we think we've found it in the Zara Indian Lounge.
We arrived quite early for a Saturday night and found ourselves the only customers, so despite the pleasant decor and warm welcome we were initially a little uncertain about our choice; however we needn't have worried - it soon started to fill up.
The menu offers a wide selection - covering the traditional Indian fare and more unusual regional specialities.
The waiting staff were very attentive, perhaps overly so when it was still quiet, but better to have enthusiastic staff than ones who couldn't care.
The food, whilst a little pricier than some of their competitors, was beautifully presented, delicious and of a very high quality.
Overall, a good upmarket Indian restaurant and takeaway that we thoroughly recommend, and our first choice in the High Wycombe area.

We were warmly greeted when we entered the restaurant,a great improvement, well done!

The interior is stylish and very clean but as we were the only customers the atmosphere was somewhat lacking.

The menu has been somewhat redjusted and the pricing point of most dishes is now more realistic

Wonderful friendly service but the quality of food still needs a further uplift.

I am willing this establishment to do well but they need to take a bit more advice from the best.

My girlfriend and I are a little hard up and have worked in many different restaurants and bars over the past 10 years.

We were delighted to find this gem of an Indian restaurant. Upon arrival we were pleased to see that the interior decor was tasteful and the ambiance warm and welcoming. Two young waiters were very eager to please, took our coats (something many restaurants are forgetting these days) and did their upmost to ensure we knew that they would be at our disposal for the evening.. very enthusiastic to say the least!

With regard to the food, we ordered the 'Zara mixed platter' as a starter to share. We thoroughly enjoyed the tandoori chicken pieces which were succulent and fresh. The rest was just as nice but you can discover that for yourselves. For main we ordered the 'Zara mixed grill' and an authentic chef special (cannot remember the name but it all looked good). We were very satisfied that it was all freshly cooked and well presented from the trolley dolly and even more surprised that it came out so quickly.

As a new restaurant having opened four weeks ago there was a problem in the kitchen with the fire alarm. The staff were so keen to excuse this and offered complimentary drinks to all the clientele.

All in all we had a very enjoyable evening and our waiters, Jahed and Ripon, were very kind and helpful.

Definitely good value for money.

Thank you for you kind words I shall make sure the boys know.

We are as you say relatively new in the area and rely on customers as your self to leave such positive notes for us to be able to both improve and build our clientele.

We are currently donating 50% of our profit to cancer research so do need the word to get out to make most of this month.

We hope to see you again and hopefully you have thoroughly enjoyed your evening.

Kind regards

Zara management
