“Fun day out, but expensive and awful food!”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We had a lovely day out today at Odds Farm... Our 1 1/2 yr old loved the sheep races, feeding the goats and sheep, stroking the bunnies and the tractor ride. He also had a great time in the soft play areas. BUT, and it is a big but much like other reviews on this site (which we should have read before our visit) the food is appalling. Cheap and low quality; wet burger buns, cheap burgers, and plastic cheese slices. Two such burgers, with chips, and half a jacket potato also cost the princely sum of £17... Quite a lot for such poor quality, on top of the £11 entry fee for each adult. We probably will visit again but will make sure we take our own picnic next time...

“Quite expensive for what it is.”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

The animals are a bit disappointing, inside play area good but don't forget to wear long sleeves and trousers. It was really hot when we went , so tho wear heavy clothing was a bit unbearable for our 11 and 8 yaer olds.

“Nice Farm and Fantastic Play Area BUT AVOID THE FOOD”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Hi

We went to Odd Farm Park for a birthday party and the day started of really good. Lots of farm animals, a large outdoor play area and you can feed animals in the barn. It can easily keep you occupied for a few hours.

Then we went into the play area which is very nice, 3 slides, climbing areas and ball pits - all very good and the kids loved it.

But, and this is a big .... then it was time to eat. For a kids party, we were given cold pizza, dirty salad and fruit, marmite sandwiches mixed it with cheese and ham sandwiches, really salty sausages and cold sausage rolls. Not one kid enjoyed the food!

So we bought them food from the cafe..... oh boy.... raw chips (£2.00 for a small bowl), sausage rolls (£2.20) were cold and limited food offering. went to complain and we were told that the raw chips wouldnt call food poisoning.

My advice to you is if you are going to go to Odds Farm Park then take your own food. Do not rely on their food. it is absolutely awful. And if you do a kids party here then do not feed your guests with their food. Bring your own.

Dear Parj

Thank you very much for your comments – we do appreciate all, both good and bad. We are glad the children enjoyed the facilities at Odds Farm Park but are disappointed to hear that they did not enjoy the food. Our Party Food selection is very popular and it is extremely rare we get complaints. Our food is freshly prepared and all salads and fruit are washed thoroughly prior to serving. We pride ourselves on offering a wide selection of food and all our chefs do take great care to provide the highest possible quality and service of food.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy the food but do hope you will visit us again.

Kind Regards

“Could be great but staff let let it down”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Visited with the family on a sunny Saturday in September. Was first shocked at the pricing structure having the pay near enough the adult price for each of four children (down to age three -£10+ really????), there are no "family" price discounts as there are in so many other places. So be prepared to part with a pretty hefty price to feed someone's animals! To make matters worse the entry staff were surly at best offering little information even when asked. Very much a "it's in the leaflet" approach, pretty poor.
The farm itself has undergone some good development and has facilities that are ok for a good day visit.
Take your own food as the cooked foods are pricey and not good. We paid £4 for two bowls of undercooked chips.
The play barn has seen significant investment but be aware before you go that children have to be completely covered, arms and legs, to enjoy the best slides. The 'helpful' staff excelled here again by saying "we don't make the rules, you can buy jumper and trousers in the shop". Ironically if you're an adult you can use the slides without being covered up - smacks of a bit of money grabbing again. That's backed up by the only exit being through the shop...
Overall a reasonable day out where the kids will be fairly happy, parents might be crying into their purse/wallet though...

Dear HonestMango

Thank you for your comments – we do appreciate all both good and bad.

Earlier this year, we introduced a new pricing structure at Odds Farm Park. There was no increase on entry prices for weekdays during term time from 2011, however, there was an increase in entry price for weekends and school holidays on account that we run more daily activities and animal demonstrations which are included in the entry price.

For safety reasons, we do insist on rules within the Playbarn which include that socks must be worn at all times and to use the red & blue drop slides, leggings/trousers and long sleeved tops must also be worn and shirts need to be tucked in. This applies to both children and adults wishing to use the drop slides. A full version of the rules of the Indoor Playbarn is available on our website at http://www.oddsfarm.co.uk/indoors.htm and you would have been provided with a copy of this on entry. We do not sell jumpers or trousers in the shop but socks may be purchased for those who did not bring them.

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your food in the Playbarn. All our food is freshly prepared and we pride ourselves on offering a wide selection of food that is good value for money. All our chefs do take great care to provide the highest possible quality and service of food and I am sorry your experience does not reflect this.

All staff at Odds Farm Park are trained to the highest standards and we pride ourselves on having friendly and approachable members of the team. We will look investigate further your comments on your experience with our staff.

We’ve had fantastic feedback on the new Playbarn. Combined with the daily activity programme which is jam packed with animal activities and demonstrations which change regularly, being able to get extra close to the animals in the Hands On Area and all the outdoor play, including the Adventure Maze, Go-Karts, Log Play Areas , plus fun Tractor and Trailer Rides and the popular Sheep Racing we believe that, with all of the above included in the entry price, Odds Farm Park offers a full day out which is enjoyable for the whole family – young and old.
Once again, thank you again for leaving a review. All our reviews (both good and bad) are fed back weekly to the management team.

Kind Regards

“Great for Kids”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We took our granddaughter camping in Oxford and piced up a leaflet for this attraction. What a gem! Our granddaughter had a fabulous time. There were a number of play areas for her to play in and she particlarly liked the tractors! It was great seeing the animals close up and there were plenty of hand wash stations. The indoor play area was her favourite. It was nice to pay one price to get in and then everything else was free including the tractor ride around the park. I do think the children's price should be a little bit lower but we will definately go there again.
