For a special Christmas meal you pay top dollar but expect great food. It cost a lot and the food was mediocre. With a live band, tv sports television and pool table nearby it was never going to be the best location for a fun time. It was the first time that I had been served sprouts with my salmon.

Dear John,

thank you for you review and we are very sorry your visit to us was not up to your satisfaction, we do try to cater for all public, the pool table is at the very far end of the premises away from the restaurant, coming from the main entrance of the premises you will not be passing the pool tale, we only have TV at the bar area and not in the restaurant and also the volume is always off, you wouldn't have view on the TV unless you are in the Bar area and we will never show a live match on any evening, The pool table or the TV are strictly for the bar area only and should not been seen or heard of in the Restaurant area. I have chosen for a Live Jazzy duo for the evening in our restaurant on your visit, i m sorry that you did not enjoy this and please let me know what would be appropriate for this occasion. The chef have chosen for Sprout with our pan fried salmon & crush basil new potatoes dressed white wine dille sauce, as this is a seasonal vegetable for this time of year. We would have provided you any other Vegetable if you have let a member of our very helpful staff known. We are always here to help and make sure our quest is taken care of.

we do take your feed back very seriously and if there anything else i can help you with please give me a call anytime.

thank you

Had lunch here today.
The pub wasn't over busy and the menu isn't huge, just enough choice in my opinion.
The quality of my food was very good and the service was excellent.
You can eat in the bar or dining area, the tables are a little high for the chairs in lounge part of the bar which made eating a little awkward.

This pub/restaurant has a perfect location by the lake at Watermead's piazza and could be awesome. It has been up and down over the years. Recently it has improved again. The service is now good, with attentive waiting staff, who appear keen to provide a quality experience. They are currently running a three courses for £10 menu on Thursday nights, portions are modest but the quality is excellent for the money on this deal. The new chef has greatly improved things, as it has been sad in the past to see this place empty, (for good reason, over priced, poor food with poor service) but now the restaurant is getting busier, there is some atmosphere. If they carry on this way, things will improve, fresh, quality food at sensible prices, is always popular, but attention to detail and good service makes it worth going out, rather than staying in. I am a Watermead resident and it would be great to have a quality restaurant on the doorstep rather than spending money on a taxi to another venue. I look forward to visiting again and would love to be able to give it 5 stars.
