Was told on arrival my booking was cancelled.
Had to complain to customer services to get a room, very stressful
Not happy with the whole experience
Breakfast was under par compared to other premiers we have stayed in, bacon & egg was ok but lack of fruit bowl except apple ,we looked forward to a summer fruit bowl as shown in brochure which usually is good but all that was on offer was apple on both days of our stay

A weekend break away to explore the locations of the Midsomer Murders TV series my wife said. The Premier Inn was offering two nights at a lower price than just one, so we booked a bargain room.

On arrival, after a fraught journey on the M25, all we wanted was a warm welcome, a hot drink and a comfortable bed. The welcome we received - even though we were later than we had planned - was indeed warm. We were given room 6, on the ground floor at the rear of this two storey hotel. The room was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and exactly the right temperature. Everything that we needed was there. Bedlinen crisp and carefully made up.The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in, and - apart from the room above us suffering from a bath mixer tap that transmitted a sound like wiper blades on a greasy windscreen at 6.30am - we had a great nights' sleep (how did we know it was their mixer tap making the noise; because ours did exactly the same thing in shower mode!).

You get free wifi for 30 minutes each day, after which you can purchase more time if you need it - but the free 30 minutes can be taken in chunks if you log off when you're not using it (so you could have three chunks of 10 minutes each, for example). The 30 minutes seems to renew like Cinderella - at midnight.

Breakfast is available 6.30am - 9am weekdays (later at weekends) at the adjacent Horse and Jockey pub. This pub could use a lick of paint and a spot of air freshener inside the front door - it was a long way behind the Premier Inn in condition. Though we hadn't prebooked, this wasn't a problem as you can pay as you go. A continental breakfast, including fruit juice, cereal/porridge, fresh fruit salad, toast, croissants, preserves, and tea or coffee is available for around £4. But if you have the time (and it doesn't take that much longer) I recommend that you go for the full English at £8.25 which is the continental, plus a freshly prepared hot plate of Sausages (really good Lincoln sausages incidentally). Bacon, Eggs (whichever way you like them), Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Hash Browns, Baked beans - whatever combination you wish and as many items as you wish. Excellent value for money for the difference in cost. At the end of what was probably the best cooked breakfast I have enjoyed in a long time, I was asked if I would like some more! That's the way to do things, and needless to say we enjoyed the same the following morning. I understand it is a buffet arrangement on Sunday mornings - so bear that in mind, as it might not be so good.

So, handy but quiet location (not on an industrial estate) with a warm welcome which delivers all that is promised in Premier's advertising and some more. Thoroughly recommended - particularly if you can bag one of their deals.

Room Tip: We were in the back of the hotel on the ground floor - very quiet. Just avoid the rooms you usually...

We came to this Inn for a weekend away to attend a wedding, the service we received from the receptionist Sarah was outstanding, she could not do enough for us, we were originally placed upstairs but when we realised there was no lift she managed to get a downstairs room for us and made up the second bed for us. Excellent!! We didn't eat in the bar as we were at the wedding all day but had breakfast the following morning and I'm afraid to say it wasn't the best, there seemed to be no organisation and clearly under staffed. But overall we were impressed with this Inn.

As a regular at premier inn I kind of knew what to expect but this one is a little different and not all in a good way

Check in was good, the receptionist, Kirsty was great, friendly and welcoming. My room felt a little tired and had a faint odour of cigrerettes, an ex smoking room possibly? The shower was under whelming and the fan noisy. Other than that the room was ok as it goes.

As has been mentioned, the associated eatery is not Whitbread and as such the food is reasonably underwhelming and not that cheap. The service was pleasant but the food delivery was slow - nearly an hour to get burger and chips delivered! And I can say it really wasnt worth the wait, not looking forward to breakfast

Would I recommend/ come again? Nope, sorry Hayley not me

Stayed at the Premier Inn Aylesbury for a long weekend meeting up with friends from other areas of the UK. Hotel ideally situated for town, only 15 minutes walk, and of the usual high PI standard. Staff as usual helpful and polite. We ate at the adjacent pub on Sat night which with over 40 main courses at two for £11 was good value and the food itself perfectly fine. We did not take breakfast on Sat morning but others in our party did, reporting back all positive comments.
However we all met up for our final fairwells over breakfast on Sunday and I how we wished we hadn't bothered. Had we not paid up front we would not have. The service was beyond unacceptable. There was a self serve buffet with the exception of eggs! Now there is the dilema. Some of our party helped themselves when the buffet was replenished, but then found they'd finished before their eggs arrived. We tried the alternative approach, ordered our eggs then waited. They took forever and then were delivered on one plate. No problem save there were no plates on the buffet, and yes you've guessed once we obtained some, empty buffet ! Of course by the time they had replenished, eggs cold. I'v never experienced such disorganisation and incompetance. That was £8.25 per person down the drain.
All very avoidable and spoilt an otherwise good hotel experience.
What is annoying is that there are other TA reviewers who had the same experience. I dont know whos worse, Premier Inn for not addressing this serious issue or me being so stupid to have expected they would have.
Don't let this affect any decision to stay at the hotel, just go elsewhere for Sunday breakfast.

Room Tip: Rooms 146 upwards are at the back of the hotel so quieter from road and pub.

Thank you for writing a review about your stay with us. I am glad that you found the hotel and it's staff to be to your satisfaction, I am sorry that the Horse and Jockey let you down on the Sunday morning for breakfast.

The pub isn't a Whitbread establishment and I am working very hard with the Manager to try and improve the service provided to our guests especially on a Sunday morning.

I have passed on all your comments and hope that when you return to us you will see a marked improvement!

You always know what you are getting with a Premier Inn, which also means that you know what you won't get - a Gym, Pool, free wifi (after the first 30 minutes).

Breakfast at the pub next door was appalling - order your egs and hash browns, then wait 15 minutes until they all arrive on one plate for a party of 8, separate eggs, go to the buffett and wait in line. No bacon, wait another 5 minutes and then 5 more for beans - cold eggs and hash browns - need I go on.

I know that this is a Budget Hotel, but they do not charge budget prices these days, especially at weekends. Better off looking for a last minute deal on here or booking.com

Room Tip: One where you cannot hear the road noise
