We live local to this pub and have been disappointed in the past. Decided to try again this evening as they are doing meals for £2.99 at the moment. Anyway I just wanted to say that the whole dining experience was much better that previously: the food was hot, tasty, well presented and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I hope this wasnt just a lucky night for us and will be back soon to find out!

well what can i say ,myself and my partner fancied a meal out as we saw alot of advertising for sizzling pubs we thought we would try it ,we got to the pub around 7.15 pm we looked at the menu and ordered at the bar at 7.25 as this is way you have to do ,, half an hour we nearly drank our 1st drink when my partner went for another drink he asked the waiter how much longer will it be for food to be ready he said 10 mins we thought thats fine so we had another drink we was waiting ... waiting ...waiting ..... we asked at 8.20 again... he said 10 mins cut a long story short at 8.45 another waiter came offering us a refund as they cannot cope with the orders i was shocked where did they expect us to eat at 9pm how ridicoulous how unprofessional was that !!!!they need to RETRAIN WAITERS for lying to customers , disgusted unorgainised i wouldnt go there again an i would advised people to avoid this pub we ended up at charter arms aylesbury within half an hour we were eating WHAT a difference ........
WOULD NOT RECOMMENED IT !!!!!!!!

I'll immediately start by explaining the 4 stars; The food here is not the best you will eat and the staff are not the most efficient you will find but simply for the value that this pub offers it gets 4 stars.

The pub has recently had a paint job and is quite open and inviting. When you walk in, to the right is mainly people drinking and over to the left is more for dining. TIP: Walk around the left hand end of the bar and there is a quieter seating area towards the back.

Food is well priced at around £7 for a main course and they tend to be good plateful of food for this. Drinks are also well priced and a little cheaper than most places in town. On the whole the quality is fairly good to, the steak isn’t always great but the burgers, chicken (various types) and ribs have always been good. This is not fine dining but you get what you pay for and there’s nothing to complain about when you consider the price.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but to coin an expression are overworked and underpaid. Nonetheless they try very hard and do aim to please.

There's also deals most weekday evenings (see the website for info) including kids eat for a pound. Definitely worth a visit.

Opened at 1200 dead on. The person opening the doors did not welcome his first batch of customers. 10 of us. The menu looked reall good. The service was terrible. Our 1st round both had soup was ordered at 12.15. it arrived at 12.45. It was nice but only warm. Then at 1.10 our mains arrived Sizzling away.Mine was mixed grill. The steak was tough and dry as was the Gammon and the Chicken. The only thing good was the chips they were nice and hot. The wife had a regular beef burger. It looked tottally BLACK when she opened the roll. There was supposed to be a tomato and some dipping sauce. Neither was there.Once more the chips were nice.As this only cost £20.00 it wasnt worth complaining although we did complain to the waitress after she asked if everything was ok. We explained and she asked if she could re-new any of her meal. Finalkly the cutlary was not good we had to ask for two items to be replaced. We wont be going back there.
