“Great day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

First visit and was very impressed. We had a lovely sunny day which really helped but there is so much to do there so even if the weather does turn it would not be a problem. We spent nearly two hours in the museum alone. Plenty of space for families to have a pic-nic and for children to run around and let of steam! safely and with no problems to the more mature visitors who sometimes frown on children just having fun.
We would certainly return again and enjoyed a very pleasing day out. Well done Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.

“A great day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

Our interest was sparked by a desire to see the old Oxford station which was transported to Bucks Railway Centre when it was removed form Oxford to make way for a college. I am so sorry we never visted sooner! A wonderful day out - absolutely fascinating though a bit saddening in the context of our privatised and diminisehd modern railway. Excellent facilities and wonderful exhibits.

“Typical preserved railway.”

A typical preserved railway really! Interesting exhibits to see over quite a large site. Decent cafe and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

“Fun day out!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

Great day out for kids (and older ones!) Good value for money with lots to see and do, from steam train rides to model railway engines and a super museum.

“Steaming Days are good value and the lunch was good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

Really enjoyed the visit with our 4+ year old Grandson, who never got bored which was a bonus! Plenty to see and do if the train is 'steaming'. if it is not could be less engaging for younger children. The additional fee for a miniature ride (which our Grandson loved) was reasonable but could have been included in the original entrance fee we thought. Just a warning if with kids, the shops close before the attraction, it is clearly signposted, but difficult to explain to a 4year old who only wanted a packet of crisps! We had lunch in the retaurant, it was reasonably priced and the adult meals were very tasty.
