The museum is in the old town part of Aylesbury. If driving then park in a town centre car park and the walk will be a maximum of 10 minutes. The train and bus stations are 5 minutes walk away.
The museum has a series of exhibits of local history and some specialist exhibitions which change every 3-4 months. The museum is fairly traditional but there seems to be a push towards more hands on exhibits. Allow up to two hours for the full museum or keep popping back as the museum is free. The café and shop are excellent. The free to use grounds are a little oasis in Aylesbury, The garden is a sun trap and always immaculate. In the summer you will see office workers sat on the benches or grass enjoying their lunch amongst families having a picnic.
