This is exactly the kind of restaurant that I love; intimate but tables not too close together, tastefully decorated, no intrusive music, subdued lighting. We were initially directed to a table near the front door but as it was a cold evening, I asked for a table in the room to the left of the entrance as a couple were just leaving. Waitresses were very courteous and cleaned and set the table for us.

Food was universally excellent. I had a fish salad with a soft-boiled egg and a mild curry dressing to start and roast rump of lamb to follow. Both were beautifully cooked and presented. I had a chocoloate orange mousse for pudding and the other 2 courses were cheese and a tomato salad - both small but who can eat 5 substantial courses? It was a very well balance meal - I felt sated but not uncomfortable.

We used a dealcloud voucher and got both meals for only £47. This included a glass of wine and was fantastic value. I would certainly dine here at full price. This is just the sort of independent restaurant that we should be supporting in Bristol.

We ate here last night as part of a package 5 course taster deal. The food served at every course was perfect, the service was attentive and friendly and the ambiance was just right. Having just read a few of the last reviews all I can say is these people must have gone somewhere else as Junipers was fantastic and we will be vising again. The only point to suggest to make your evening just that bit better, is ask to be seated downstairs as the atmosphere is just that little bit better, we arrived earlier than expected and were upstairs alone for a while and felt a little lost to the large open room by ourselves.

Junipers menu holds a lot of promise and in a 3 week period I ate at many varying types of places and it just seemed lacking compared to other great food places in Bristol.

I so wanted to love it but I felt disappointed.

It was the first night back after the Christmas break and it was very busy but there are only a limited number of dishes on the menu and they came out being not much better than mass catered cuisine.

They're great people though and I'd probably give it another go...

We bought vouchers on Groupon for six of us to go out for dinner, and it was fab. The food was very nice and well presented, and plenty of it! Service was great- if a little cumbersome at times, and staff were friendly and helpful. Only minor criticism would be that we were a little squashed in- it was cosy for six of us with other tables very close! But overall a very good experience. Would definitely go back, it was amazing value for money with the voucher.
Thank you!

We have eaten at Juniper on several previous occasions and always find the food excellent.
Last night the food was again very good and there was plenty of it. The food was beautiful presented.
The evening was a bit of a let down however for the following reasons.
1. The background music was too loud.
2 The service was disappointing. Little attention given to us. The 2 young female waiters chatted to each other all evening and their mobile phones were of more interest than attending to customers. It took nearly 20 minutes for the bill to arrive after requesting it.

This aspect needs attention for this high class establishment.
