Overall a really nice evening. Came on a Saturday night. Only thing I would say is letting the place down is the wait on food as it took quite long. Hats off to the barman as he seemed to be juggling between duties on his own up front and still managed to make us feel welcome and attended to us when nobody else would :)

Had the hake special which was lovely but again the wait put a dampener on it. People should enjoy eating out. go to KFC or whatever if your in a rush but come to spyglass if you want polite, natural service with a great atmosphere. Will be back.

Went to Spyglass because we'd been there 3 years ago and enjoyed the food. Got seated on the boat itself, which was a great setting. The food was very good, can't complain at all about my char or my wife's hake in Serrano ham.

But the wait ruined it. It wasn't the waiters; I could see the pass and nothing was waiting there for long. It wasn't the complexity of the dish. It was just a normal Saturday yet we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food.

It was the first night of our holiday and the hour we lost in this place took the wind from our sails. We skipped dessert and left once finished. Won't be back, unfortunately.

We went to the Spyglass on a Tuesday evening about 7pm. It was quite busy and all the tables overlooking the water were taken, so we opted to sit inside by a window to watch the world go by. We ordered drinks which came quickly. We chose meals from the specials menu which were absolutely delicious. I had stuffed chicken breast and my husband had steak. Both meals were served beautifully and by friendly staff. It makes such a difference when you go to a restaurant where the staff are smiley and happy and actually seem to care about their customers. Both the food and the staff mean that we will definitely be going there again, and probably take friends with us. First class. Management should be proud of their staff, and a lot of restaurants should take a leaf out of their book! See you soon Spyglass;-)

Ordered drinks when we arrived but then promptly requested to change order, recieved original order about 10 minutes or so later as "it had already been poured".

Ordered salmon £10 (good) and burger £11 (nice bun, rubbish burger). Asked for no red onions but told this was not possible. Really don't know why as it was one peice of lettice, a slither of onion and a sad slice of tomato when it came.

Took absolutely ages to clear our table. We wanted a dessert and asked two people if we could order it but order not taken for ages. Sangria and chocolate fondue were nice but fondue absolute rip off for £8. Waitress did say "sorry I forgot you" which helped slightly but we were still annoyed. People around us were getting the wrong order and not having tables cleared either.

Overall it is a good location but very poor staff and average food. Perhaps just avoid the burger.
