I needed a restaurant for an evening meal which was close to clients hotel in Bristol and after consulting Trip Adviser came up with this option. First bonus was, the restaurent had a free carpark ( evening) next door so parking was not an issue. Downstairs there appeared to be comfortable bar and lounge, upstairs and overlooking the river is the restaurant and we booked a table with a riverside view. Later in the year with the light evenings this would have been a wonderful view. The Restaurant itself has a very clean/modern ambience/decor/theme almost bordering on clinical which is in no way a negative remark. On the evening in question the staff were very helpful/attentive and no complainte there. Potential problem for me was taking continental guests who are used to good food into a UK Restaurant but everyone was happy with the menu and the dishes were quite unusual with a veriety of unusual fish dishes, Brill and Ling, which I sampled both and could recommend to anyone who likes fish. The portion sizes were adequat and better than many other eating establishments i have recently tried. Average cost was about £40 per person.
I will certainly take my wife back later in the year even though it isnt my classic choice for a cosey couples evening. The seats get a bit uncomfortable after about 90 minutes.
Final comment and I notice someone else mentioned it, the gents toilets, the trough was full of about three inches of urine so looks like a blockage and of course it ponged a bit but being a bloke you tend to put up with these sorts of things.

We went back to the riverstation tonight,an inpromptu visit after the cinema, we arrived at 10:55 & we were welcomed & swiftly seated. Although asked for a French Chenin blanc which they didn't have the waiter said he would choose me a white I would love, he didn't dissapoint, Thank you Dan. I choose the Seabass with pomegranet, which was delicious. My partner had the steak, which he said was faultless as allways. Dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding, then icecream and sorbet - fabulous! Yum! Again Dan choose me a matching desset wine.

Really good menu choices, very well cooked and a real restaurant experience at a reasonable price. Courses were served right on the limit of a reasonable time.

A group of us came for a meal and honestly, the food was AMAZING! Very good service, fantastic location on Bristol's harbourside, it does what it says on the tin. Pay and display parking is bang next door which is handy. You walk up the stairs into the restaurant, and are given table. They do excellent cocktails, although the service was VERY SLOW getting these as they came from the bar downstairs. We ordred two, and they took a good 25mins to arrive and it wasn't even busy. The starters, main and pudd were really good, and the home-made style bread they tout in a pretty basket is really very good, accompanied with good butter. The ladies toilets are back down the stairs and to be honest could do with a refurb. They stank of drains vs fabreeze, and had stains/marks in the flooring, where old toilets once sat, the flooring was also old and cracked and not good for infection control. This is disappointing, and if the restaurant refurbished the toilets and sorted out the speed of the cocktails coming upstairs, it would get a full on 5 *. Recommended; fab food but they need to sharpen up on the drinks service & public conveniences.

We are really lucky that Riverstation is a short stroll from home. The staff are really helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The food always excellent whether its the set menu or the A la Carte or the bar downstairs also serves great food . The view over the river adds to the ambience. We hope to be able to continue to go there for many years to come...
