I do not like very spicy food - the waiter recommended medium spicy lamb and said they would make it a bit less spicy for me. It was just perfect, very well cooked, with excellent sauce, rice, pita and salad - it was definitely the best meal I had in Bristol so far. Booking a table is recommended as is it usually full.

Chose the restaurant on the basis of previous reviews. Food was superb and along with drinks was reasonably priced. Overall rating would have been excellent if it hadn't been for the over the top attitude of waiters asking if we were happy. Must have been asked more than 10 times in the course of an hour and a half.
Sure you need to check that everything is ok but not several times each by various members of staff.
Stop being so insecure and let your customers enjoy their food.

We visited Urban Tandoor as we were passing and were very lucky to get a table in an hour’s time. I would recommend booking in advance as this place is popular and very busy!!

Great menu and a small wine list, we were being served by a great waiter Carlos, who hailed from Portugal, he was helpful and knowledgeable and assisted us in choosing our meal, we were both very pleased that we followed his recommendations! We Garlic Chicken Tikka and Calamari as starters, both were delicious, the chicken tender and tasty, the calamari was well cooked and the chili and honey accompanied it really well, the manager told us that Carlos put this on the menu and it has gone down really well!

For our main courses we shared a King Prawn Moilee which was quite spicy but not overpowering, the flavours were superb and one of their specials, a lamb shank served as a whole meal with rice and garlic naan, this was absolutely fantastic and I truly regret that we could not eat it all!! We did manage a complimentary desert though!!

Well done to Carlos and the whole team at Urban Tandoor, this place is worth a trip to Bristol for!!

Having arranged a late afternoon/evening out with friends in Bristol midweek I decided to book a table at Urban Tandoor. So glad I did. Apart from starters and desserts which we shared, each of us chose a different main course. We all concluded that each of the meals were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. We could not fault the service. All the staff were very friendly and the whole evening flowed beautifully with a very pleasant atmosphere.

Seated us promptly, food arrived and was delicious. Great poppadom dips, I recommend! Nice atmos, well-priced. Our waiter was a little OTT with this hospitality, could've done without the forced chit chat but hey he's trying. Would come again
