My wife and I booked into the premier Wessex Flyer in Bristol for four days and we had a reasonable stay if you ignore the one face towel provided for two people, the staff said it was policy these days. Also the shower power was non existent it was a trickle and one had to lean on the wall to clear the soap.
The bed? although its a guarantee of a good nights sleep we didn't bother to claim it, why? because as regulars of the premier we claimed it in the past but found the guilt trip too much, the bed was lumpy and out of date as they all are the modern mattress of memory foam topping eludes the premier.
we ate in the brewers fare attached and the breakfast was cold and the new idea of help yourself is a no no for me, that was on the Sunday, thank the lord it was normal on Monday though no hotter. we had a carvery on the evening and that was undercooked and cold , the lids had been left off and the early bird time we attended made it even worse it was as if it was lunch time left overs.
The same could be said for most of our stay though on occasion we had a perfect meal[ sort of ] I think cooks should be employed and the amateurs given the boot, and yes its much the same in all premiers we have stayed in though by the same token there are a couple of good cooks in there because we have had some good meals discounting the very poor menu, ok if you love chicken or Chinese or foreign foods but if your like me and only eat what we was brought up on and English, not much choice I am afraid.
This is just a sample but of course every cloud has a silver lining and in this case its the staff of the hotel and front of house staff in the restaurant.
There it is five stars for the staff and two for the premier.
Hopefully it will be better next time we stay every couple of months or so.
