“cold start”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

My wife and I booked into the premier Wessex Flyer in Bristol for four days and we had a reasonable stay if you ignore the one face towel provided for two people, the staff said it was policy these days. Also the shower power was non existent it was a trickle and one had to lean on the wall to clear the soap.
The bed? although its a guarantee of a good nights sleep we didn't bother to claim it, why? because as regulars of the premier we claimed it in the past but found the guilt trip too much, the bed was lumpy and out of date as they all are the modern mattress of memory foam topping eludes the premier.
we ate in the brewers fare attached and the breakfast was cold and the new idea of help yourself is a no no for me, that was on the Sunday, thank the lord it was normal on Monday though no hotter. we had a carvery on the evening and that was undercooked and cold , the lids had been left off and the early bird time we attended made it even worse it was as if it was lunch time left overs.
The same could be said for most of our stay though on occasion we had a perfect meal[ sort of ] I think cooks should be employed and the amateurs given the boot, and yes its much the same in all premiers we have stayed in though by the same token there are a couple of good cooks in there because we have had some good meals discounting the very poor menu, ok if you love chicken or Chinese or foreign foods but if your like me and only eat what we was brought up on and English, not much choice I am afraid.
This is just a sample but of course every cloud has a silver lining and in this case its the staff of the hotel and front of house staff in the restaurant.
There it is five stars for the staff and two for the premier.
Hopefully it will be better next time we stay every couple of months or so.

Stayed with my friend. Upon arrival there was a complaint underway, we stood patiently waiting and not once thanked for our patience or apologised to for the delay!! Dirty toilet and make up marks on the bed linen

Stayed overnight prior to touring Bath University, which was a short drive away. Premier inn is a great format for a pleasant nights stay. They have thought of most things, bathroom was good, beds are comfy, room was clean and they have tea and coffee making facilites and a hairdryer. All in all a good nights stay.

Visited bristol as we were in the audience for deal or no deal. Studio is half a mile from premier inn where we stayed one night.
Plenty of free parking in front. Small reception with vending machine. Pleasant staff. 60 or so rooms all on ground floor. Rooms standard premier inn devor. Our double was large , had a sofa bed as well and a good sized bathroom with bath and shower.
Very clean and modern.
Wifi £3 a day or free for 30 mins.

Food served at brewers fayre next door. This was an ok pub and pretty busy on the thursday we were there. Good atmosphere.
The leisure park the premier inn is on consists of a Gala bingo, a cinema, a KFC, a mcdonalds, an all u can eat chinese and a Frankie n Bennies as well as the Brewers Fayre. Plenty of carparking and a local park nearby
If you want decent food then its a drive elsewhere as nothing seemed walkable.

We ate at Frankie and Bennies , never again. The other choices are equally as poor imho

The hotel is very good but the surrounding hostelries are poor food wise. The pub was good so maybe next time we,ll take our own food and have drinks in the pub . Its cheap priced but the food , also an all u can eat chinese the nite we were there looked like something straight from the freezer shop.

Hotel 8/10 surrounding facilities 4/10

Premier Inn at Bristol is a nice place to stay. It is neat, clean, has WiFi, a restaurant, where food is good and the rooms are very neat & clean.
Though there is an attached restaurant, there are other eateries around, like, Macs, KFC & others.
This Premier Inn an all ground floor Hotel.
The location too is appropriate.
The staff too is very courteous.

Room Tip: All the rooms are identical, but the price varies from season to season and also advance booking per...

For a family stay with decent comfort and security and very friendly staff, at very reasonable value for money, can't do better.
One of the two children's beds was perhaps less comfortable, but at least two single beds were available and the room was ready to receive the four of us.

No problems with arrival. A large car park with lots of spaces to accommodate the hotel, restaurant and the other businesses based in this business park. The receptionist was pleasant and efficient and there was no queue to check in. They had correct booking details.

The room was warm, clean, spacious, comfortably furnished and decorated to a good level as with all Premier Inns. We were very pleased to find that it was the first Premier Inn room we have been in with drawer storage. Let’s hope this is going to become policy across all their hotels. There was also a large screen wall mounted TV with all the Freeview channels. The bathroom was equally clean, modern and in perfect working order, with enough towels for 3 of us every day. The room was kept very clean throughout our stay. We had no problems with noise throughout our stay.

The hotel is not directly in the city centre, but it's only a short drive away. The location is excellent for getting about to explore visitor attractions in Somerset. The business park also has a Frankie and Benny’s, a Chinese buffet restaurant, a bingo hall, a multi-screen cinema and a McDonalds and KFC; so on a short break you don’t need to drive anywhere to find plenty of choice for the evening’s food and entertainment.

Breakfast was good quality, with a standard selection of hot and cold food. The price of a full English breakfast seemed a little expensive, but you can have as much as you want, and kids eat free; so families can get a good deal. It was never too busy as well, so the atmosphere was relaxed. We ate in the restaurant, a Brewers Fayre, one night. The menu had all the usual Great British pub grub classics; which we found very tasty. Special thanks to waiters John at breakfast, and Erica at dinner, for their friendly and helpful service.

Check out was straightforward. For the rate per room, for 3 of us staying in it, on an advance booking, it was the right hotel: being clean, comfortable and in the right location. So, we would definitely stay again if we could get a good deal on the rate.
