Given the normal high standards of the chain this must be one of premier inns weaker hotels.
Details like lack of phone in room, a rather depressing location (midst of barren out of town carpark) - detract. Also seemed to be a lack of meal times info in the room.

On top of this the cost of internet use in the room is simply too high - and not clear on website prior to booking

Staff are friendly and connected pub next door offer good value.

We booked in for two nights in Bristol Premier Inn and enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Situated as it was in Hengrove Leisure Park meant that there was a cinema within walking distance. The room was comfy and breakfast excellent. Would stay there again.

This was our second stay at this Premier Inn, and we were more than happy with the room and the welcome from the staff. What one must remember is 'you get what you pay for'. If you want 4* luxury with all the trimmings, then don't book a Premier Inn - it is a 'no frills' hotel but with more than adequate facilities (at least you get tea/coffee making equipment), AND the rooms here are just as good as many supposed 4* hotels as regards cleanliness and comfort, and better than some we have stayed in at home or abroad.

We were on the first floor, but as there are only two floors, ground and first, the lack of a lift was not an issue (how many people have a lift in their own home to go up one flight of stairs?). We were at the front of the hotel, overlooking the car park, and were not disturbed by car noise during the night, in fact the seagulls at 5 am made more noise.

Our only real quibble was the service at breakfast in the Wessex Flyer, the hotel's restaurant. On both mornings the service was incredibly slow, and things were not replenished - no hot water for tea, lack of other 'cold' breakfast items. The 'hot' breakfast was ok, but slow in arriving - a wait of nearly 30 minutes. On the first morning my husband's breakfast was not exactly as ordered, but as we had waited so long we didn't bother to complain!

So, in conclusion - hotel and service is very good, restaurant and service is poor.
We would stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: If you can't manage stairs, then ask for a ground floor room when booking.

I booked a two night stay, based on the other reviews here, but what they don't say is that there is no air conditioning and in July/August the room temperature was consistantly over 25 degrees day and night. By opening the window, you are then subject to the noise from the pub next door, and the KFC & McDonalds all night drive thrus; as the hotel is situated on a leisure park. I struggled to sleep and then was woken at 6am by people leaving the hotel.
There is also no lift so you have to rely on help from a kind receptionists.
Hotel staff were very friendly, but also had two bad meals at the restaurant and would say that the quality of the food is not great for the price.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor, if able bodied, and then you can open a window !

The room was standard for Premier Inns, roomy, comfortable and very clean. The check in was very efficiently done and we were very impressed by the service offered by the guy on reception - we were having a problem with our hire car and he offered the use of the phone, which he certainly did not have to do. We were very happy with our stay.
