We paid our first visit to Al Bacio on a very busy Saturday night. The place had a noisy, cheerful buzz to it, and we were given a warm welcome by the staff. Our starter, avocado and prawns from the day's specials, was a disappointment. One avocado was very firm, the other downright hard, which could easily have been checked by the kitchen. However, this was compensated for by our mains, chicken and veal respectively, which were truly excellent, nicely presented and full of flavour. Cannot comment on dessert, as we eventually gave up on waiting for a dessert menu, and only managed to get coffee and the bill by virtually rugby tackling a passing waiter to pin him down. In fairness, although hard pressed, the staff remained courteous and good humoured, and overall we would certainly return, but possibly on a slightly quieter evening.
