Sadly, based on our first experience, this new to Bristol restaurant did not live up to its first reviews. Staff were welcoming on our arrival, the service was attentive and discreet, and the overall decor was fine (although the bland and repetitive background ambient ethno-disco music became tedious after a while). We chose seafood and meat combination starters which were visually curious, but (as a previous reviewer said) were hard to eat because the full size cutlery did not fit into the little pots and bowls making the one piece meat dishes in particular difficult consume - I struggled on and resisted decanting all onto my side plate. The mains were disappointing in only being marginally better than most equivalent curries but at a high mark-up price (£17.00+). For this price we expected better presentation but the only effort was a large raw green chilli plopped onto one meat dish which we put on the side. The best part of the mains was the pilau rice and plain nan which were very tasty. Overall we came away feeling a little disappointed and that we have had better treats. The longstanding and reliable Krishna's Inn, further up Park Street, provides more interesting food, much cheaper, and with less pretence.
