“Marvellous Restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Tucked away in Welsh Back, this is a beautifully presented restaurant. I rocked up for Sunday lunch and was very pleased to find Ricard on the drinks list as opposed to the ubiquitous Pernod. In fact the cocktail list is very good indeed, including classics like the Bellini and the French 75 alongside more modern drinks. The house Bloody Mary looked excellent.

I started with a goat's cheese mouse with beetroot and black olive crisp. Mine came with crostini but it still worked extremely well. Light, flavoursome - a perfect starter. When I pointed out the crostini to the waitress, she applogised and insisted on bringing me a further small portion with the black olive crisp at no charge.

The roast sirloin of beef was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. The accompanying vegetables were also excellent. I had a half-bottle of claret with the beef - not cheap at £15 but very good. I finished the meal with a passion fruit mousse with a wild strawberry sorbet.

A special must be made of the waiting staff. Just the right balance of attentiveness and distance. They were friendly and knowledgeable.

This is the best restaurant I've been to so far in Bristol and I've lived here for 6 years. Go whilst you can still get a table!

“Great food, great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

Food was excellent, the pork belly was immaculate and the chocolate fondant perfect!

Table booked for 7pm, we didn't leave til closing, close to midnight. Never pressured into leaving as with some restaurants, we were encouraged to stay at our table and enjoy ourselves peacefully.

Shared some jokes with the waiter too, all around a great service and would definitely recommend!!

“Absolutely perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

Four of us had dinner at The Cherry Duck and we were all astonished at the presentation ,quality and perfection of the three courses we had.
The scallops on cauliflower purée and the belly pork were wonderful.
Service friendly and timely.
We agreed that this was currently the best restaurant in Bristol. All four of us now want to try their brunch and lunch menus.
A must !! @ approximately £25.00 for three fantastic courses.

“Outstanding cuisine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

This is a superb restaurant which four of us visited following a lot of recommendations. Perfection. Creative dishes, superbly presented and really friendly team. The best Scallops I've ever eaten and the belly pork main course was a lesson in how to cook and serve this meat. Absolutely loved it.
