Thoroughly recommend the cherry duck for great cuisine that is extremely good value For money ( 2 courses £20). Staff very knowledgable about both the food being served (where it came from, etc) and the origins of the vast range of cocktails on offer. Thank you for a great dining experience. We will be back.

We each had three courses. The Duck brulee starter was amazing. The mains were good but not amazing. Pudding was amazing. I would certainly recommend trying this intimate place. It's in a great location overlooking the river and the decor is muted and relaxing. The staff were attentive and friendly. Overall a little gem!

Nice healthy food a little expensive but worthwhile. Sat outside which could do with a tidy up for a bistro of this type.

I went here for an early dinner with a friend last night, and overall the experience was good. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and we had a lovely table overlooking the water. The service was good and the food was very tasty. We both had the two course option, with red mullet mains and chocolate fondant desserts, as well as bread and oil beforehand. All the food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. However, we both thought that the portion size of the main course was too small - if it was part of a 6 course tasting menu then its size would have been appropriate, but for one of just two courses, even with the bread, this left us both a bit unsatisfied (and I'm a 7 stone woman, not a hungry man!). The dessert on the other hand was perfectly sized, and ranks as one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. Other niggles, only 125ml glasses of wine are available, that's way too small in my opinion! By all means offer small glasses, but offer regular 175ml ones as well please! Also the bread only came with oil, it would have been nice to at least have the option of balsamic vinegar to add, or butter instead. And tap water was poured for us in small glasses, but the bottle wasn't left on the table. The waiting staff were pretty good at topping up the water, but it would be much better to be left with a bottle or jug, given the tiny size of the glasses. Nevertheless, it was a really good meal and I will definitely be going back, and hopefully by then Cherry Duck might have ironed out some of these small issues.

A small harborside bistro towards the end of Welsh Back street; reservations highly recommended. We walked in at 9pm to find no table available and turned back down the road. The barman ran after us when a table had unexpectedly asked for the check having finished dessert. We were impressed by this...so many places don't care. There was a slight blip in service as we sat quite a while with empty glasses but this was resolved very nicely and satisfactorily and in fact the front of house staff of whom there seemed to be only 3 were very customer oriented. Food delicious and beautifully presented. You can have a 2 course meal for +/- 19 pounds and a 3 course for +/- 24 pounds. Apparently the menu changes regularly because it is sourced locally so there is variety from one visit to another.
