“Good food, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

I've eaten at Mackenzies on a few occasions. The food is reasonably priced and always really well cooked and tasty. Unfortunately, neither the quality of the service or the Guinness quite match up to the quality of the food. The bar / restaurant is in a fantastic location on the harbourside which gives great views and free wifi is also available which is always a bonus. On the whole, definitely a place I'll visit again.

“The Watershed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Called in for respite from the cold, had a large coffee and Toffee pudding and spent a nice 40 minutes, very relaxed with friendly staff and reasonable prices. A lot of other people doing the same thing. We will go back again

“Good food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

I had a burger in this pub which was very nice. The service was not great as I had to wait long time to be served, even if there were not many customers at the time. The staff should be more alert and fast I think.

“Good view, nice food but not the cheapest”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

On a busy, sunny lunchtime in the school holidays, we came across this place for lunch. We had looked at other places on the waterfront but they either didn't have a seat outside or they had groups of blokes on stag dos. It wasn't the cheapest place but we were getting hungry! We sat outside and enjoyed the view. We ordered a cheeseburger and chips, a bacon and egg roll, linguine gamberi and an extra portion of chips. The food came out pretty quickly and was nice. However, the portion sizes were a bit odd - the burger that came with chips had the smallest portion I'd ever seen. Literally, a few chips in a little pot. But the chips that we ordered as a side order were pretty generous! On the whole, the staff were helpful and friendly but a young girl came outside while I was still eating (although the other two people had finished) and without saying a word, she took away the plates that were finished. We found that slightly unprofessional. On the whole, it was enjoyable to eat while sat outside as you could watch the boats and enjoy the weather. However, there are similar places that do offer a slightly cheaper similar menu.
