“Nice clean hotel.”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We stayed here for one night whilst the Bristol Balloon Fiesta was on.

Happy with the hotel. Room large and bathroom too.
Staff were Good (although when my boyfriend handed the key in the lady was on the phone, he wasn't happy she never even acknowledged him)

Everything clean.

Breakfast included is nice and enjoyable. They don't do Bacon? A breakfast without bacon seems unacceptable :P

My one big issue I had with this hotel (and I've had it with others) - The cleaner walked in before we had checked out and scared me to death. Surely they know who's in and who's out?

Thank you for your positive review from your recent stay at the hotel. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. We do offer a complimentary continental breakfast with hot options, unfortunately bacon isn't one of the options at the moment, we do offer sausages, scrambled egg and beans for free though. I am sorry that one of the housekeeping team members entered your room whilst you were still in it. I will be sure to investigate with housekeeping to find out how this happened to ensure this doesn't happen again.
I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future.
Kind Regards
Erica

The staff let us check in 2 hours early which was great! The room was big and very clean. For fifty pound I thought it was very reasonable especially with breakfast included. We stayed on the third floor by the lift but unlike other chain hotels I did not hear any noise or other voices throughout the whole night. We walked to the train station which was an easy 20 mins with a pram. Return to central bristol on a sat for two people was under eight pound. I would stay here again. Staff were great too!

Dear Ljs,

We like to try and check-in guests as early as we can - once rooms are cleaned. Pleased to hear this was possible for you. We pride ourselves on being in a quiet location with easy access to public transport, and you found Parkway station an easy stroll.

Look forward to your return with us in the near future.

Kind regards,

We stayed for one night while visiting the city.

We were impressed with the following: -

Cleanliness, hygienic, tidy, comfort of the room, excellent facilities eg bathroom, shower, TV, kettle.

The staff/receptionists were very competent and efficient and very warm and welcoming. They smiled, engaged in eye contact and were very helpful. Three very helpful female receptionists who got us soya milk when we requested this and pointed me in the right direction to get fair trade teabags and a complimentary newspaper (Independent).

Good price for one night (£37) via online website.

Only disappointment was the smell of paint as the hotel was being refurbished and bits of paint on the carpets but only a minor blip.

Overall - very good.

Well done.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write your thought about your stay.

We enjoyed reading your positive feedback and you found the team to be very efficient with welcoming smiles, and engaged with you. Apologies for the decorated smell, as we are currently re-furbishing all bedrooms to a higher standard. This will be completed very soon.

Kind regards.

Stayed last Sunday night after spending the day at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. Checked in around 8pm when a large group was also checking in. Thought we would have to wait a while but quickly served once they realised we weren't part of the group. Got up to the room which overlooked the car park and road but noise not a problem with the window shut and the fantastic air con system. Had a room with twin beds, 32 inch tv and tea and coffee making facilities. The room also had plenty of plugs and the bed side lights were great as you could move them into position over the bed for reading while not disburbing the other person. We both said we had the best nights sleep weve ever had when staying away from home. Got up in the morning early for breakfast as we were told it would be busy which it was but had no problem find a table. Breakfast was adequate with a good continental selection but would have liked beans to go with the Scrambled egg and sausage on offer. The staff were always topping the breakfast items up. They are renovating the rooms bit by bit from 9 am to 6 pm but didn't really bother us noise wise and the hotel will be quite modern once its been finished. Looks like they are developing the area around with a new retail park and have a well known supermarket just over the road. Would highly recommend and would definately stay again as handy for Bristol and not too far from the Balloon Fiesta.

Room Tip: We had room 314 on the top floor overlooking the road and car park but didn't have any noise pro...

Stayed at this hotel while visiting the city for a couple of days. Well located, both for arriving by car or by train (approximately 15 minute walk from Bristol Parkway).
Staff were very helpful when I rang to inquire how far the station was from the hotel, and whether there was an suitable footpath. We were also able to leave the car at the hotel (as we arrived much earlier than check-in) while we took the train to the city centre - les than 10 mins on the train.
The rooms were being refurbished while we stayed there, but noise and disruption were kept to a minimum (we probably wouldn't have been able to tell if we hadn't smelt the paint).
Room was very clean and tidy and a nice size. Breakfast (included with stay) was simple but fine for what we needed. Lack of trays though so had to juggle the plates back to the table.
Overall, a pleasant stay.

Stayed for a trip to Bristol on our way to Devon. The room was spotless and really comfortable for three. Buses outside to the city centre (about 20 minutes - look out for the Banksy on the way). You can also get to Bath from the bus there too.

We were shattered and had a comfortable and quiet sleep. Perfect!

The free breakfast was adequate for our journey.

We will stay if ever down this way again.
