This is a lovely walk on a summers day. It is very long and you pass some very nice attractions. I would recommend this if your visiting or if you live in the area!

The floating harbour is a really nice place to visit when the sun is shining. There is much to entertain all tastes, historical building, the cranes, the M Shed, Brunel's Buttery, @ Bristol, Millennium Square and much much more. It's about a 2.5 mile circular trip if you want to go all the way round - and I would recommend this as you also take in the original Underfall yard which is still working. You also get to see the massive dry dock just along from the SS Great Britain, which is worth a visit if you have the time. If you don't want to spend any money this walk is a really good way of spending time - and a must for visitors to Bristol so they can experience some of the working history of the city.

the docks are as they should be, boats, old buildings etc. only some sympathetic development, but the majority gave a soulless atmosphere, the pubs/bars were all mainly chains, and you could have been anywhere that attracts hen/stag nights. there is an open air market which had lovely items/food to buy, but the whole thing is overshadowed by the dumbed down, cheap, litter producing giants of the food and drink industry. i would not go back. clifton has the personality in bristol.

Bristol Docks - right in the centre of Bristol - no longer a working dock but upgraded now as a place to go - great restaurants and walking areas - and plenty to see
