I have stayed at the Hotel du Vin Bristol once previously, enjoying the delights of the Villa Maria Suite, however this time it was only a one night stay, but with a breakfast meeting thrown in, so just a standard room was booked by internet. Perhaps it was just luck, perhaps it was because it was a slow Monday night, but Voila! even arriving off a late plane around 10pm we found ourselves shown up to the Laroche Suite at no extra charge. This room is on the second floor and has an extraordinary view of the unusual roof of part of the hotel and back across the top of the courtyard, so interesting but not everyone's cup of tea. It is however blissfully quiet.
We were able to nip down to the bar and have a scrumptious snack and nightcap, a good night's sleep then a successful breakfast meeting. The food here, especially the wide choice of breakfast dishes remains excellent and so far as we are concerned the service cheerful and prompt. There are only a few paid parking spots in front of the hotel, however there is a multi-storey car park about 150 feet further along the one way street.More
