We got married on the GlassBoat in 2007 and they gave us an amazing time with a superb wedding ceremony and wedding reception to remember for all the right reasons; all our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. So we were delighted to find ourselves back in Bristol for our anniversary this year as a start to our holiday; however now wish we had never gone back (albeit it can never spoil our memories). The menu was not terrribly inspiring and my husband's veloute was only tepid. I had lobster and considering the price was a bit disappointed that I had a bit of a search under the lettuce to find it! The main courses were better but desserts again were a bit hit and miss. Dinner was expensive - but we don't mind paying this for a great meal for special occasion; unfortunately this was far from great and we certainly won't be going again.

First with my only gripe..and the loss of a 5 star. If you are putting scallops on the menu serve scallop"s" not one the size of a 10pence piece, gripe over.

The food was very impressive, the wild Hare a real treat, and a beef Wellington that had friends revelling words "the best they have ever had"

The atmosphere is testimony to the management; a couple of larger groups placed in the same area away from diners looking for a more intimate meal; a buzzing restaurant with a good feel.

With mains priced nearer 20 pounds this is high end for Bristol, but don't be too put off, the cost is personified through the delivery, minus my only gripe..scallops are always in threes ;)

We visited for a friend's birthday at lunchtime. Food was excellent. I had Game Terrine followed by baked Hake and finally Treacle Tart. With 3 courses for £12 plus drinks - it was great. With 6 people the bill with drinks, wine and coffee was £130 plus tip. Service was attentive and friendly. This was our fourth visit and it continues to meet our expectations every time.
