Visited on a Thursday lunchtime and couldn't fault the food on the special lunchtime menu of 2 courses for £10. Chose salt and pepper squid to start with pan fried hake with brown shrimps on bed of crushed potatoes and spinach as a main. Totally delicious with excellent service and a beautiful spot on Welsh Back. Takes a lot of beating

As I hadnt been there before we took a change on their 'early evening menu'. We were offered a choice of tables by the friendly staff and were seated with a wonderful river view. The house wine was good and the food, whilst being smaller portions of the mains, was excellant. I wish that we had been able to have the very interesting sounding deserts - next time I hope.
I would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend.

We had a private Saturday lunch party for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We had three lengthy meetings beforehand and asked for a number of changes to be made to the menu and the general arrangements. We were told this was no problem and on the day everything ran like clockwork. We have had so many letters from friends praising the venue and the quality of the cooking as well as the low profile and excellent service from the staff. One of the guests decided he did not want fish just as he was being served, and within a short time a delicious risotto was put in front of him. Altogether a first class experience at a brilliant location looking out on to the busy river.

Had a wonderful evening despite them being obviously very busy indeed , it did not impact on the quality of the food which was superb or the service which was the perfect combination of prompt, charming but not over bearing.. There were 8 of us in our party and everyone was delighted with their food choices, an interesting menu, beautifully cooked and each fish was pretty as a picture without ever tipping into flash, just food with real style. My rabbit cooked three ways with a pea risotto was memorable ! The rabbit was moist and delicious and the risotto the perfect consistency . highly recommended and such a lovely setting on the river .

We booked for the 'start of holiday' meal and ate early. Met by a strong smell of marine diesel, we went to our table. I chose the risotto and it contained so much lemon that it was inedible. It was sent back. The children chose brownie with peanut butter ice cream and it arrived with vanilla and peanut was brought after pointing out the error

Great front of house but some one needs sacking in the kitchen! Not a treat. Very disappointing.
