The food here is simple but quality-driven with an emphasis on fresh local produce and hearty British cuisine, with a cracking Sunday roast to round off your week.Drinks-wise, the emphasis is on quality and range, with everything from real ales to cocktails available, all served by friendly, well-trained staff.

This is my local pub. Went here for Sunday Roast (I have been many times before).

I can't fault the roast for pure value for money. They had their usual pork and belly, chicken and beef roast. This costs £9. Although the gravy was a tad watery, everything else was excellent especially the Yorkshire puddings.

Looking forward to going again.

Larkin Cen.

Evening out with partner & decided to have the Cheeseboard for 2 - "Three very special locally produced cheeses which change regulary served with pickles, chutney, whole roasted garlic & posh crackers £7.95 pp". Hmmm......cheese was OK, salady stuff was OK, posh crackers.....not enough & only one variety. Value for money.....considering we paid £14 for the cheeseboard & 2 glasses of wine (£29.85 value in total). That made the two small glasses of wine worth £6.98 each!!
The atmosphere in the pub however, was quite lively so in my opinion a positive. Would we go there again? Nope.

Hello there, we are extremely disappointed that your experience was not up to the high standards we endeavour to deliver to every customer. We are proud of our cheeseboard and have taken a lot of time to choose specific wines to match our carefully selected cheeses.

Unfortunately the wines we chose are very expensive wines but there are cheaper wines on our list that are not specifically matched to the cheese. We hope that there is value for money in the wine as we believe the wines are excellent and we do not make a great deal of margin on these wines as they are very expensive.

I am so sorry there was not the variety or amount of crackers you expected, this is not good enough. You should not have needed to ask but your request for more crackers would not have been ignored.

Kind regards, Mike

We regularly venture to The Lazy Dog for good larger and a pretty good outdoor area (being smokers this does factor in with our drinking venue choices!)

First time I've eaten in the week here and we both had their home-made pies. Great value and perfect on a winter's evening washed down with a Bitburger.

Took over the upstairs room for a leaving work Do . The cosy comfort - it takes about 40 , guessing we had 55. , together with the pleasant attentive staff made the night a huge success . Great catering and a private bar for the event added to the overall chilled experience which this spot with its wide range of beers , ciders and lagers provides . Highly recommend the place , be it the bar , garden or separate room.

Another amazing roast at the Lazy Dog! I'm from Chichester, West Sussex and I wish I could get a roast as good as the one at the Lazy Dog in Chichester!
