“Step through the red door”

If you enjoy visiting old houses this is another one for you - see also "The Georgian House". This Elizabethan gem hides itself down a Bristolaisn backstreet behind a bright red front door.
This house is yet another fabulous free offering from Bristol city. It is a sympathetically restored town house dating from Elizabethan times, take time to wander the two storeys open to visitors. See the Oak panelling and stunning ceilings. Now I did enjoy my visit to this house but it did have more of a museum feel than "The Georgian House", which in my opinion had a little more soul.

It is a beautiful house with a fantastic main room from the period of Elisabeth I. Not too big, quiet and in the centre. For free. They have description in many different languages. Check the opening period - it is only in summer.
