If you're familiar with the St Werburgh's area of Bristol, you'll know it's famous for its alternative culture of self-build homes, allotments and interest in alternative lifestyle. The City Farm was probably founded on this principle too, and you're aware of the alternative nature of the cafe the moment you step through the door. Good place to stop for tea and cake- surprisingly nice chilli kick in the chocolate brownies!

We visited here with our daughter, who lived not far away and were surprised to find such a lovely quiet area of old houses nearby, and then to come across the farm. We didn't go into the pub, but carried on our walk, further afield. The area is delightful and I would imagine that families with young children would particularly enjoy it.

I love the pub and the animals are cool. The food is pretty good too. And the surrounding area of St werburghs is delightful.

Lovely green space in the middle of the city. Great to visit the goats, ducks and chickens! Daughter has an allotment here which is a lovely stroll along the leafy lane. The view from the allotments to the distant trees is beautiful. All in all a great place to take children. We visited the cafe on a Saturday morning and it was packed full of families with young children - very busy- so you need to be patient when waiting for your food.
