“A good way to work off your breckie!”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Not the most jaw dropping place to see for sure but worth a walk up the steps while in Bristol. A sure way to get your heart pounding and burn off a few pounds!

“Intriguing view of old Bristol”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

With so much of Bristol destroyed in the war or over the centuries it's refreshing to find this piece of old Bristol, leading down to what was once the River Frome and across to the City Walls. It's lined with old shops - of various vintages - that now play host to speciality shops.

Sadly many of these speciality shops now just sell bric a brac but there are some more interesting ones - art galleries, the Bristol Cider Company and a philatelic store. It's worth a casual diversion but it's better to check out markets that are occasionally held there - such as in December that brings a little more colour and flavour to the Steps.

“Quaint part of old Bristol”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

In amongst all the bland post-war development that blights parts of Bristol city centre the Christmas Steps are an attractive area of old architecture which opens out on to still more attractive buildings at the top of the Steps.
