“A great day out!”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We visited Bristol Zoo from Southampton in June as a day out and really enjoyed it. We are annual Marwell Zoo members, so we got into Bristol Zoo for free, simple procedure, warmly greeted and informed of all of the talks. We walked around at the recommended pace, so we got to see all of the talks, and it appeared to us that all of the animals were happy and healthy. The Twilight room seemed a bit too dark to enjoy, but that was the only downpoint of the day. The food in the restaurant was tasty (and the homemade lemonade was delicious - the best I'd ever had!) The midday show was a lovely break, seeing all the talks and spending our day walking around. Was a great day out! Also worth noting that every cage that was meant to have animals in, had them in and they were all up and active, maybe we were just lucky but it was a refreshing change! The walkthrough to feed the lorikeets is so worth the 70p a pot of nectar it costs. Amazing how intelligent the little birds are!

“Great family day”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

We went to Bristol Zoo, we took out daughter, partner, son and granddaughter, we had a lovely day, there is plenty to see and do, watched the sea-lions completing there activities, lots to see. Lovely day with family and not too badly priced, good value day if booked in advance online.

“Disapointing visit”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

Visited zoo on way home from trip to wales, glad we didn't make a special visit. Had planned to stay for most of day, but were done in 1.5hrs. Have visited many zoos before and this was definitely the most disappointing visit we have made. Very few animals on show, most seemed to be out of sight. The animals we saw were in very small enclosures compared to other zoos.

“Very impressed!”
Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

Really impressive zoo. Wide range of animals and well kept enclosures. Felt like we could really see everything. I think the enclosures and wider than normal but not as deep, so much easier to see the inhabitants! Great new gorilla enclosure! Highly recommended.

“Sunset at the Zoo.”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

Bristol Zoo have started opening in the evening so me and my partner thought we would give it a try. It started at 6.30pm and we arrived dead on time, the Car park was full so we parked up on Circuliar road. When we got down to the entrance there was an extensive queue which moved rather quickly.

Once inside we were not given a map so had to go back and ask, overall very enjoyable, not as crowded as can be so was nice to take a leisurely stroll.

I paid £28 for two Adults and one under 2 (which is free) which I did not feel represented value for money as there was no talks or animal feeds which you could watch during normal opening hours, If I had visited during opening hours I would have only paid £1 more and gained significantly more.
