“Well worth a visit, constant changes...”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

I absolutely love this museum and it's one of the best in the area. It's home to loads of different artifacts; fossils, bones of dinosaurs, crystals, artworks and ceramics. There are constant changes happening in the 2 exhibition areas of the museum from photography exhibits to Egyptian exhibits. There are lots of fun things for children to look at with a large taxidermy area (there's so many animals to look at, including extinct ones). There are various activities especially put on and kids stations for arts and crafts and interactive activities. There is also a well stocked cafe and shop inside with plenty of places to sit down and have a rest.
The artwork area on the top floor is superb and has some amazing pictures, a lot of them paintings from Bristol centuries ago, so it's great to see the changes that have occurred.

The building is very nice and has a lot of history, it's also pretty much in the center of Bristol and only a 10 minute walk from the very center, however be prepared for hill, but you will be passing many shops to take your mind off it. It's right next to the Bristol University Building and therefore you will get to see some more old and newly restored buildings.

“It's a miracle”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

The museum hit the big time with the Banksy exhibition last year but those of us who live in Bristol know and love this gem in the heart of the city. Always child friendly (great for grandkids) plenty to see and do and easy to find and get around. Well done Bristol City Council-it's a miracle how you do so much with so little.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Didn't visit all the sections as we were starting to suffer from culture overload! In particular I enjoyed the glass, silver, art gallery and Egyptian section. It would have been nice to have had more information available in sources other than the interactive screens in the Egyptian room, many were not working properly and if there were a few people viewing a case of course only one could use the screen. Overall though, as the title says, it is well worth a visit. Free entry apart from the special visiting exhibition which we didn't get round to.
