“Great cheap/free day out for families”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2012

Choose a sunny day, take a picnic and a bat & ball and spend the whole day relaxing and playing in the grounds of Blaise Castle. Beautiful woodland walks, play equipment for all ages and a little museum inside the house.

“Quirky”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2011

We often pop in here when walking or using the playgrounds at Blaise. These days, a museum experience can be very slick and hi-tech so it is comforting to poke around the curiosities on display at Blaise. Museums like they used to be!

“A Museum, a Park, and a Folly.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2011

Take some time to visit this area, especially on a warm summer's day. And while you are there, pop into Blaise Hamlet - a short walk away. The museum is located within a large area of park and woodland. There are various paths to take the visitor to the folly, which resembles a small castle, and down into a shaded area, alongside the River Trym, to the old mill. The River Trym is still narrow and shallow at this point, before it reaches the River Avon, some miles distant. Why not enjoy a picnic here, in this peaceful area, or stroll to a local inn for a drink and a snack.

“Fantastic Free Day Out!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2011

Blaise Castle is a hidden treasure. As the title suggests there is a castle, it is of a mini size on top of a little hill. Infact it is completly hidden by trees from the bottom, and there are many little paths up through the trees and woodland to explore with numours grottos on the way. Once at the top there is a lovely lawned area and spectacular views.
Also on site is Blaize house, which is a little stately home, with several rooms which your can look around. Some of the stuff includes, childrens toys from the past, and some interesting textile collections.
There are large grassed areas perfect for picinics although there is also a cafe on site, next to the childrens playground.
I would reccommend Blaize castle to groups of friends and families who want a national trust type day out. Plus its all free even the parking yes :)
