My granddaughter aged 3 loved this trip. In old carriages with bench seats and steamy windows looking out to open country. Nice trip down the line then back up the other way took around 45 mins. Good cafe, cycle run. Watch the engine detach and turn back to the front of the train at each terminus. Spent a good couple of hours here

Great fun and a lovely fun day! We went with my Grand daughter who was absolutely delighted as we were. The railway is run by volunteers who are just fantastic. We will go again.

We have visited the railway every year since having children to travel on the train and meet Santa. A lovely experience and certainly beats queuing somewhere.
Ask to be in one of the old fashioned private carriages, you will share with another family .... but a bit more unique and will remind the older children of harry potter.

The Avon Valley Railway is fantastic if you appreciate the country side. The railway runs between Bitton (Bristol) to the city of Bath. Distance is approx 16 miles. I cycle down this path regularly and is one of my favourite routes. you'll find plenty of walkers, cyclists and joggers along this route taking in the English countryside and the pubs that sit just off the path and make the perfect pit stop :)
