Visiting friends who could not accommodate us, we chose this place off the internet. The very pleasant owner, Karen Hewson, apologised for the fact that the only remaining room had a bath without a separate shower but, by the time we had arrived, she had swapped our room for another and we had our shower! The room was quite small, a dormer under the eaves, but it was clean and comfortable and the shower was good, effiecient and clean. The breakfast (included in the price) was excellent, with a good choice, which Karen asked us to choose the night before, to enable her to plan. She also provided for Marmite addicts. Altogether a very comfortable two nights. The price was slightly higher than Premier Inn up the road, but included breakfast and was more elegant but homely.

Room Tip: In very hot weather , I suspect that the top-floor rooms would be quite hot. In such a case try to...

We decided upon this b and b as a few of our other friends were staying there and I'm so glad we did. We had an excellent spacious room, We were given the front room which is nearest to the main road. I can honestly say I heard no traffic and I'm from the country where you only hear the birds!! The owner Karen was absolutely fantastic. She organised Taxis for us and was very accomodating to all our requests. I didnt once feel like I was being a nusience (even when I knew she had other things to attend to, Thank you Karen!) The room was clean and tidy and had lovely little personal touches which you wouldnt find in a sterile hotel. Our other friends rooms were also lovely and shared the same comfort and warmth.
The breakfast was most enjoyable and soothed many a delicate stomach the next morning!!
We loved it and glad that we have found a place where we can stay when we visit our friends again the next time we are in Bristol.

I’ve just stayed at Westbury Park for the third time and my first impressions are repeated on every visit – it’s a lovely stylish and relaxing guesthouse where you immediately feel at home. The owner Karen gives a very warm welcome, the rooms are large and beautifully decorated with lovely period furniture, and the house is bright, light and impeccably clean. Great linen and comfy beds. Breakfast is always a treat – a feast of classic English fare with friendly helpful service in a bright and sunny room. A perfect start to the day! Nothing is too much trouble for Karen who, since she took over the guesthouse a few years ago, has upgraded every area to ensure that guests have the very best service and a welcoming stay. Thanks Karen - I’m looking forward to my fourth visit...& posting a photo of a fourth lovely room!

Room Tip: Room 6 has a lovely French bed

Beautifully decorated inside and out - very clean rooms with large windows giving lots of light - clean towels and a good shower.

Very polite, friendly owners - who cook a fantastic breakfast!

Well signposted and easy to find with free parking on the road directly outside.

We will be back!

We've now stayed with Karen at Westbury Park quite a few times, both in summer and in winter. We've been very impressed and happy with the place and all it offers since our first time and continue to stay regularly. It's been great to see the progress Karen's made - Westbury Park has always been comfortable and welcoming, with tastefully decorated public rooms and a real 'home from home' feel to the breakfast room. Although they've always been comfortable, the bedrooms and bathrooms are all being gradually upgraded too now, which makes it an even better experience. Thanks Karen - and here's to our next visit!

On arrival at the guest house we got a parking space in the car park, and proceeded to check in. Having booked well in advance, requesting a room with a bath, which was confimed via email, we were surprised to say the least that our room had a shower and no bath, the next room allocated was the same, but 3rd time lucky a room with a bath but 2 single beds.
The room was pleasant, clean but a few faults, the electrics were all over the place and the toilet lid was cracked. After a wonderfull evening at Bristols finest eatery, we retierd to bed.
Breakfast was served in a plesant sunny room, with our order pre placed the eve before.
The cooked option that we had was, on the whole, small, with the most aneamic sausage i have ever seen. Attention to detail was pretty poor at breakfast, the coffee machine ran out and was not refilled, the urn for tea was switched off, toast was served on a plate not a rack ( it goes soggy if left on a plate) and the table cloth was like a builders cafe, plastic and the salt and pepper were open ramekins that had other peoples fingers in them prior to us ! Another tip is don't clear the table while i am still eating, this makes you feel that you are in a fast food joint.
The second day's breakfast was the same, except i had a toast rack, but still as small, so don't expext to feel full.
On the whole the stay was plesent, but i am confused about the star rating, the previous day we stayed in a hotel with the same star rating,**** but miles a head in all departments, tarrif could be an explanation as the Westbury was £30 less expensive, but on the whole we had a pleasant stay. We hope this is usefull and any points that have been mentioned will be taken on board and we would return.

I generally dont sleep well in hotels. But I managed a full seven and a half hours in this B and B despite, having a room on a main road. Good sized rooms, great quality crisp clean bed linen and a relaxed atmosphere helped enormously. The decor created a homely feel. The owner manages to offer just the right amount of warmth and interest without seeming to pry. Her offer of the use of the dining room for a take-away meal if I didnt want to go out that evening was appreciated after a long day. The generous breakfast with a choice of fruit, cereal and a cooked meal really set me up for the day. A great place to stay.
