Arrived late so the reception was closed. But when I rang the bell they sent me directly to my room no7 that was open. I found the key and Wifi access codes on the desk. Big spacious room with a big bathroom with a view over Bristol. It was windy that night so i could hear the wind blowing through the window in the bathroom. But the bed was so big and good that I slept very well. The breakfast was delicious and with a good personal service. The hotel was 3 minutes walk away from one of the best restaurants in Bristol, Rockfish! I'll return!

I chose this B&B for the bath and the views. It didn't disappoint on either count. We stayed in the West Loft suite, which was superb. We had three baths in an overnight stay. The concierge was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. Breakfast was a delight; my only criticism is that the service was a bit haphazard.

I have been fortunate to stay here on a number of occasions - and each time just gets better. It is in a great location, and the rooms and bathrooms are of the highest quality. Breakfast is fantastic and the staff simply cannot do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. When you have experienced customer service at that level - it is hard to stay anywhere else!

After looking at many hotels in different parts of the country for a few days away, we chose Number 38 in Clifton. We were delighted with our choice in every respect. We stayed in the East Loft Suite, which is a large and lovely room with great views over Bristol on one side and the Downs on the other. The room was so relaxing and the atmosphere so friendly and welcoming that we decided to extend our stay. That gave us the opportunity to enjoy another delicious breakfast before reluctantly setting off for home! Number 38 is an outstanding place to stay, and we were very impressed with Clifton and Bristol too.

The Staff were so warm, genuine and down to earth. They could not do enough and I was just so touched at their kindness. The rooms just had that Georgian charm, tastefully decorated and plush bathrooms, I cannot wait for an excuse to go back. Whether you are at the front or back of the property, amazing views of Bristol. Note reserve early, I tried to obtain a top floor suite four months in advance and was disappointed. I had a suprior house room and was very happy indeed, you won't regret your stay here!

We have just returned home after spending a wonderful 2 nights at Number 38.

The house is decorated and furnished beautifully throughout. We had one of the larger rooms (room 2) at the top of the building (a treat for my birthday!) - from our room we had a wonderful view across the city from the bathroom side and across the downs at the front.

The breakfasts are very tasty and extremely filling - the scrambled egg with smoked salmon and chives was particularly tasty.

There are lovely REN products in the rooms and complimentary bottled water. There is a well stocked mini fridge in the room and fresh milk for tea/coffee.

White fluffy towels and robes (both were changed each day).

The staff were all very welcoming and friendly.

A really enjoyable stay - would love to go again sometime.

My partner and I went to Number Thirty Eight as a birthday treat and although beautiful, they missed a few tricks. We didn't have an iPod dock which was a shame, the retro stereo was good to look at but not really comparable to your own musical choices. The bathroom was a real clincher when booking the hotel because of the lovely free standing baths but no bubble bath! What a shame. The two staff members we met were lovely and friendly, particularly at breakfast (which was delicious and a real treat as it was all included in the price).
