“Comfortable stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Recently stayed at this hotel for three nights. Found the hotel easy to find from the train station and conveniently located for most of Bristol's central location.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet despite being in the midst of a busy section of road. I think the only thing it loses the odd mark on is that there was not much natural light. However, we were out during the day so this didn't matter.

This hotel has some potential pitfalls (reading the other reviews), but we did not encounter any. We got parked in the car park OK (may have been the last space though!), and did not encounter noise or stag/hen parties. Given its location, the room was very quiet, not to mention exceptionally clean and comfortable (I have stayed in hotels at over twice the price where I could not sleep due to the poor state of the mattress). The staff in reception were super-helpful, friendly and chatty. It is perfect for a walk into the city, cinemas, bars and restaurants all within easy reach. I will definitely book to stay here when I come to Bristol again....accept the parking situation and the fact it is not in a trendy location, and just enjoy good hospitality and great value.

After refusing to stay at a hotel in Clifton which I had booked, had to ring around hotels in Bristol at 7:30 at night to find a room.

Rooms were available here and the lady on the phone was very helpful. Arrived 1/2 hour later to a very pleasant welcome from the same lady (Emily) who remembered the call and asked of our experience at the other hotel.

Next morning, went down to breakfast and the same lady was at reception again when she asked if all was ok.

At breakfast in the Beafeater, staff were also very pleasant.

We were attending a wedding in Bristol and when we went down dressed for the wedding the receptionist called a taxi for us which turned up very quickly.

All in all Emily & the Premier Inn saved the day!

Room Tip: All rooms very much the same

Stayed one night 6 October, Checked in by a friendly Receptionist who informed us that if we wanted any more tea or coffee just to ring down to reception which we did, our room was clear and tidy, a nice touch was the leaflet on the pillow which said that if you wanted a softer pillow there were two in the wardrobe. Bed was comfy, did not have breakfast. Would stay there again

Hi, have stayed a few times when visiting my sons who live in Bristol. Noticed an earlier review commenting on the location. If you stay at a hotel in the centre of a city then what do you expect, a sea view or countryside? Its lots of buildings! Plus side, yes only 10 mins from the harbour and right next to shopping centre, opposite the road from bus stops and not too far from the train station! Loads of places to eat nearby. We are visiting my sons again in a couple of weeks and yes we are booking in here again. We are going to get married on a Cruise ship in November and you guessed it! We are staying at a Premier Inn in LondonHeathrow before we go. Great value, perfectly clean and PERFECT locations. Thanks Premier and to all the staff for doing such a good job.

Room Tip: Although town centre, double glazing does a perfect job.

Standard Premier Inn room - they usually work well. Clean. The room and inner hallways were way too hot and my colleagues and I all commented that we had the a/c on all night.
The car park is a nightmare - very small and hard to manoeuvre about in.

Was assisted with using the self-service check in. I had booked three rooms but we had to check each in individually and so I had to make three payments. Annoying.

Probably won't stay here next time.

Hi Mandy,

Thank you for your commenst on your stay with us.

I am aware that our car park is small with only 55 spaces. This is on our web site as a first come, first serve car park. We do get a 15% discount off the Rupert Street NCP car park.
There is Bridewell Street car park opposite Rupert Street car park, which charges £10 for 24 hours but is only suitable for car height.

I do hope this helps on your next visit to Bristol.

After a very busy drive we got to the car park only to see full. I did tell my husband to double check as I had previously check tripadvisor and saw comment that another customer was faced with full car park sign only to find out it wasn't.t. We then parked in tiny car park near, however, I had to phone up to pay for ticket which wasn't easy. I thought I paid for 24hrs but I only paid for two hours. The car spaces are narrow and caused a very stressful start to our visit. I then got stressed and had to pay another fee to park overnight which is till ten am. When checking in I saw the premier car park with many empty spaces . It was only 4pm so didn't expect it to be full. When I challenged a staff member she said they were to busy to alter the car park computer. I was so crossed. Even though it's a good situation for the shops the stress of parking out weighed the position. Also we were met by three girls trying to direct us to self check in . I said they could check us in. It wasn't
Busy as it was only us there. I fill they were keeping spaces for specific people which would be unfiar, surely it should be first come first served. It cost me extra payment as it was not clear what to say about the length of stay. My advice would be to say 12 hours and that should get you till ten am next day which will cost £8.20 or stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Stay on outskirts and use park and ride
