Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel

The hotel is central, just a few minutes walk to the centre. Car parking is an NCP oposite, you get 25% off if validating your ticket at the hotel.
The hotel was OK, but needs updating in some areas. The room I had was average size and the decor generally in need of a refresh.
The main problem I had here was noise, in particular a noise outside the room in a wall panel in the corridor. It sounded like a water pipe? and kept cutting in/out. Also rubbish bins being moved at 0600hrs.
Ceryainly not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but I'm in no hurry to go back.

Room Tip: End of corridor on first floor was where I heard the noise, best avoided

We needed a room for the Saturday night and this hotel is handy for the centre of Bristol. It's nothing spectacular but fine if you need a stop over - more of a business hotel rather than a romantic or boutique destination. We booked a river view room which was pleasant, although the late-evening activity outside was such that you could not sleep with the sliding window open, although the noise diminished after midnight.

The bed and pillows were excellent - I have back problems and had an uninterrupted night's sleep.

The rooms are very clean and well equipped.

When we arrived the room temperature was about 27 degrees - way too hot! The air con seemed to struggle, so we opened the sliding door to get things cooled down and went out - when we got back it was much cooler. The corridor outside is also very warm!

Breakfast in the morning is perfect - a wide selection of fruits, breads, cold meats and a hot breakfast buffet.

The room price was a bit steep, but the hotel is conveniently located and we had the river view room and breakfast which is all extra. The NCP car park is right behind the hotel and if you present your ticket at Reception they give a 25% discount on the parking fee, so with the discount the parking was £15.

In summary - clean, functional and convenient

Room Tip: Great view from our 4th floor room!

It will be our first option in the future. The only thinks we don't like is the water supply, that had not enough pressure. All the other was excellent but the breakfast is very, very expensive. No natural orange juice.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night and was pleased by how close it was to the city center (5 minute walk). I was given a disabled room (I'm not disabled, I think it's because I checked in early) so can't properly comment on bedroom sizes, as the one I was given was obviously larger than average.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly.

There is an NCP car park right next door, and you can swap your card out for a discounted one at reception (overnight stay will cost you £16 to park). This may still seem to expensive but it is pretty much the same across all of the city centre hotels.

Value for money is excellent, I only paid £50 for the room.

We recently stayed in the Mercure Brigstow hotel in Bristol. Location is good for central Bristol but as usual parking is not ideal. However guests can park at the local NCP and get a reduction (£15- 24hrs)
Hotel itself is well appointed, clean, nice staff we had a privilege room on the top floor with a nice river view. The room was very clean and in an excellent state, nothing broken or damaged. Bed comfortable, and overall facilities good, the one disappointment the TV which had a smaller selection of channels than Freeview, considering these room are £80 a night upwards I would have hoped for better.

We stayed for just one night on Friday. The location was good- about a 15 minute walk from Temple Meads. The staff were friendly and allowed us to leave our baggage there early. The rooms were clean and modern looking. The area directly around the hotel is good with a few bars and restaurants within a short walk. You can easily walk into the harbour area where there are more bars and restaurants. The pavements in the area are cobbed so leave the stilettos at home. You can walk to Cabot Circus and into the Broadmeads shopping area from the hotel. A great base for a flying visit to Bristol.

I really like this hotel and have adopted it for business trips to Bristol. location is great, as is the standard of the rooms and a river view room is worth the little extra, although ask for a high floor due to revellers (bristolian students mainly) passing by late. Restaurant is good value too. The hotel has a loyalty programme which is worth joining if you're a frequent stayer but do double check they credit your account with each stay as retro claiming points is a bit of a bind.
