Really like this pub. It's a Bristol Beer Factory pub and always has a good selection of thier beers that are kept very well. Only eaten there once but the food was of a pretty decent quality and I'd definitely eat there again (tried to get my office christmas party there but it was already booked). The setting is pretty nice on the river, with a decent view of the SS great britain. Although it's nice in winter it's definitely improved by a bit of sunshine as it makes the seating upstairs (open air) available.

This floating pub is little more than average. the food is acceptable but the seating downstairs for music is appalling, you can't see that stage at all unless you stand at the front.

The Grain Barge is a floating bar and restaurant. It has local beers from The Bristol Beer Factory and serves a good house wine as well as mulled wine and cider. The food very good. We had the Butternut Squash pie and mash and the Steak pie and mash. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. Even though it was a really cold day, we were really cosy with the sun shining through the barge windows. Such a nice place to have lunch or a relaxing drink, if you are in Bristol. And the home made brownies are scrumptious. Really friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere.

Really beautiful restaurant and pub on a boat, with traditional british food. Amazing savory pies. Perfect to enjoy a sunny day outside.

We had lunch at The Grain Barge yesterday. The setting on the Cumberland Basin is perfect, the staff are friendly and helpful and the locally brewed beer is fantastic. It was also nice and warm on a wet and windy day. So I was disappointed with the lunch. I had roast leg of lamb with red wine sauce from the cut price lunch menu. There was plenty of lamb served on mashed potato but it was grey, overcooked and reminiscent of school dinners. I'd rather have had a small helping of quality meat. A couple of carrots or some greens would have been nice too - it looked odd without. My partner had the beef and stilton pie which was better but small and also would have benefited from a little veg. I'd go back for a drink any time but not to eat.
